We stay in the bus station, where we catch the First X1 departure at 2150.

We get off at Wisbech Bus station at 2218 under the impression there is a steam tram that will take us to Upwell. Sadly, we are totally disillusioned as it closed to passengers almost before our mother was born.

Can you check your posting again, please. We arrived at Kings Lynn bus station at 1955, so a departure of 1850 stated above is really not possible.

Done - entirely misread the arrival time.

Times corrected to next departure on the route

Mind you I seem to be running 85 years late anyway

We decide that enough is enough for this particular Sunday, so noting that the coming week awaits us, we find a hostelry to rest our tired limbs for the night having made our usual request for an early morning alarm call and we set off back to the bus station where we board the 0651 First in Suffolk and Norfolk service X1 to Dereham (Market Place) that arrives there at 0852 on Monday morning.

We are delighted to have arrived there in the final week of the timetable of the Wells and Walsingham Light Railway where the special limited October timetable is running and this gives us time to take a good lunch then a walk along the quayside, before making our way to the small terminal station where we board the 1430 Wells and Walsingham Light Railway service to Walsingham that arrives there at 1515 on Monday afternoon.

We spend some time exploring the Abbey and Shrine before returning to Wells on the Norfolk Green 29 bus at 1635, arriving at 1650 Monday afternoon.

We also unsuccessfully try to remember more than a few words of 'Walsingham Matilda' by Sid Kipper. Just as well maybe.
