Hull-Selby looks to be closed too, meaning all Northern, TPE and Hull Trains services along this route are suspended. The 16:39 Northern from Selby to Scarborough (ex York) has not left Selby yet. Obviously this is having huge knock on effects on trains between Hull and Scarborough - none look to be running at the moment.

It rained this morning down here and I got soaked on duty ... full sun now though!

We had to refund shed loads of tickets though as there was no service on the VT2 route beyond Derby.

Severe rain has caused the closure of the lines at Clay Cross which means nothing can pass through this area. No other operators are running through this area either.

Trains are terminating at Derby and a normal service is running south of Derby. We are advising customer not to travel between Sheffield and Derby and we have suspended ticket sales between these destinations.

Don't expect anything to run through Sheffield for a few days. Major flooding all over the city and surrounding areas....

1 man died in the Hull area :(. Services are still hugely disrupted, with some limited TPE services operating between Hull and Leeds, and a Hull Trains shuttle between Hull and Selby. No Northern services at all though, although some lines (namely Harrogate line) have partially reopened.

Due to flooding between Derby and Chesterfield we are currently unable to run any services north of Derby.

Following earlier evacuation, Sheffield station has re-opened, but the only services currently operating are those between Sheffield and Manchester.

There are no replacement bus services north of Derby due to adverse road conditions.

We are planning a reduced service from Derby and Nottingham to London today, calling at all stations. Our timetable will be as follows:

Services from Derby to London will depart at xx:34 minutes past each hour
Services from London to Derby will depart at xx:00 minutes past each hour
Services from Nottingham to London will depart at xx:07 minutes each hour
Services from London to Nottingham will depart at xx:30 past each hour

Passengers who decide not to travel today, will be able to use their ticket from today tomorrow.

Following the heavy rain and flooding in the Midlands yesterday we advise all Central Trains passengers in the East Midlands to check their train times before setting off on journeys today.

Due to flooding no Central Trains services are currently operating between:

Nottingham and Sheffield.

Skegness and Boston

Lincoln and Doncaster

Lincoln and Grimsby

Trains to and from Norwich will start from and terminate at Nottingham.

Central Trains travelling to Liverpool on the Norwich-Liverpool service will start from Sheffield (not Nottingham)

Yeah, he was trying to clear a drain to prevent further flooding (the council had put over this temporary man-hole cover after the floods 10 days ago). Sadly he fell and got his foot stuck in the drain. The fire brigade tried to free him for several hours but eventually the prolonged exposure to the cold floodwater caused him to lose conciousness and he died :(

Oh! thats tragic. I just heard he got his foot stuck in a drain on the
radio and you know thought 'yeah yeah' . But that's certainly a sad
case.

There has been a Landslip in one of the tunnels south of Betws-y-Coed on the Conwy Valley line, and this has shut the line south of Betws.

Services are terminating at Betws for the time being.

Was ****ing it down here in Bournemouth at about 0730 this morning - at Eastleigh at about 1140 it was bad enough that it was making 12 450s massively slip in the rain!!! Think we only got up to 35mph between ESL and Winchester.

Also the weather map look totally different on the 6 O'clock news. London and the South East wont be touched by this rain storm and should sunny if not cloudy.
