Had some quite heavy rain last night/this morning, with floods of approximately 1cm ;) Looking at the map thing above, it doesn't look too blue over my area. Certainly not as bad as the poor souls around Leeds

All this hoo har is annoying me tbh. Rain here rain there and its never true! Its been full glorious sun all day. Ah well, since when has the weather man been right anyway =)

If you realised that there was life outside of your town, you might wake up to the fact that "this hoo har" has had half of Yorkshire underwater in the past week, and I doubt the weekends weather will alleviate any of it.

Why are the Fire Brigade pumping out drainage ditches all around the Humber then?

Why is the council in Sheffield busy replacing walls that were damaged, and laying down extra defences?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/newsid_6250000/newsid_6254300/6254316.stm?bw=bb&mp=wm

And why say it isn't true when you haven't seen for yourself what it's been like up here. That must be one of the most pathetic statements I've ever read....

Have you lost it? What do you mean 'hoo har'? It isn't bloody 'hoo har', most of Yorkshire has been devestated, as well as many other areas, and personally I find your comments rude and selfish. Why don't you tell the bereaved families that it's all 'hoo har'? I'm sure they'd be amused.

100m of rain fell in 24 hours! I don't care whether it's been sunny in the south east. You haven't had to volunteer for 9 hours today in an emergency shelter at City Hall!

Your comments are disgusting, and I would agree entirely with David and Tom B. Please grow up and think about the people whose lives have been wrecked by the weather, the people who have lost their homes, their livelihoods and, in some cases, their relatives.

So I'm not allowed my opinion? The latest weather I've seen today suggest rain (not of the heavy kind) but heavy rain within small spots on Northern Ireland/west Midlands and East midlands/Yorkshire. If the weather men saw this heavy rain coming towards the UK (Which im sure they did) then why weren't places known to flood and other parts protected against this? That's what is annoying me.

I wouldn't call that an opinion....

What you said was disgusting and totally out of order. Just because there hasn't been much rain in St. Albans, and has been sunny a lot of the time doesn't mean it's like that for the rest of the country.

I don't know how the predict how much rain is going to fall and where, but the Met Office does not issue weather and flood warnings for the fun of it. Also, when you consider that some places in South and East Yorkshire have had 10 inches of rain or more in a very short time, then it can't just disappear, it has to go somewhere....

If you think you can do better than the experts at the Met Office, then why don't you apply for a job there?

£1 Billion pounds of damage isn't "hoo-har" in my eyes

I certainly agree, what class 313 said was completely out of order, people have lost their lives and many houses have been damaged, it has also caused millions of pounds worth of damage to the rail network, your comments really are disgusting, you need to look beyond St Albans, its not the centre of the universe!

Think before you post next time

Yes I admit that was a silly post, but it doesn't need like 6 of you to keep telling me, and most things are repeated from David's post.

TomB, I don't want swearing on the forums.

Andrew, I don't know if you have noticed, but this topic has been dead for 9 months. Why drag it up?

Another thing I think you've overlooked is the fact that Tom is an admin on these forums, so telling him what is, and what isn't acceptable isn't, erm, acceptable really.

JsT, you will recieve a PM shortly about your (deleted) post as well.
