Where will they take over the signalling... like Eastbourne psb

Err, last year for Eastbourne.
Ultimately it will be the whole of the Sussex route, all of Kent, and then up the MML to Bedford. But that will all take another 20 years at least.

Is that the end of Ashford and/or Gillingham then? They never seemed certain what the plan for Kent was, is this partly because the two NR route areas have been combined?
Thought there was another ROC at Ashford - or have they changed the plans again?
It has always been the very long term plan, measured in units of decades. TBROC is certainly sized for it. However nothing is certain except death, taxes and the campaign to reopen lines that Beeching may or may not have closed. Expect multiple changes to the plan over the coming years.
I thought Gillingham was one of the 12 and would control Kent?

Without Gillingham how do you get 12?
Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff, York, Manchester, Derby, Rugby, Romford, Didcot, Basingstoke, Three Bridges and where?
What about London bridge (the eastern side)Victoria, Three Bridges, Arundel, Lancing, Barnham, Bognor, Chichester, Dorking, Lewes, Newhaven Town, Newhaven Harbour, probably a few others to boot.

All as when funds permit, of course.

Central has and Thameslink core has. I wondering if the eastern side has gone over or norHasn't the Central side gone over to the new Three Bridges ROC (TL prefixes) and through the Thameslink Core?

I can't wait to see what happens when someone burns the toast or grub in the kitchen and the place is evacuated due to the sounding of the fire alarms!![]()

Is TBROC sized for it?
Kent will likely total 15-17 workstations once the various outposts are resignalled.
Majority of them boxes will be staying now
And Littlehampton?
The zoned fire alarm will note there is smoke in the kitchen, and be dealt with accordingly.
How many full, unplanned evacuations of ROCs have taken place since the first one opened?
In fact TBD ROC has continued to work while Three Bridges Signal Box has been closed due to power failures more than once.
Personal experience it works fine, even cutting the power off onky affect it for a second and doesn't even upset PCs.
Several years in the ROC has shown me it works.
TBROC currently controls the old London Bridge panels 1/part of 3 (Charing X and part London Bridge). Vic panel 8 and West Hampstead panel 1 (thameslink core), as well as London Bridge central down to forest hill.
I certainly don't remember having power failures recently at the ASC since the ROC opened, although we did have one not long after the Arun Valley was commissioned which upset the smartlock computers for a while.

It's the old Victoria panel (workstation) 6 not 8 that's in the ROC.

There where two local power failures which caused issues at the TBD box that I was duty for. One was evening peak and another at start of service on a weekday morning.
I'm pretty sure one happened before the signallers came but both times the ROC was unaffected.
Last comment we had from a visitor to St Albans South box late last year was that they are considering having the border between Three Bridges and East Midlands ROCs just North of Luton.......Err, last year for Eastbourne.

Originally it was going to be north of Bedford. Then after much hand wringing, a decision was taken make the boundary just north of Sandridge. This is wrong for all sorts of reasons, and will be a chapter in my book.
Now, I gather, there are investigations into north of Bedford again, which is where it should be.
(As an aside, when I was in St Albans South box last year, I said Sandridge)
It's strange that I don't rember them so I wasn't on duty for either, nor do I remember any of my colleagues talking about any. But I was on duty when we lost the smartlock on panels 4 and 7 when there was a power cut and the UPS wouldn't kick in due to a wiring fault and that really upset the signalling computers that wouldn't reset for ages after the power was restored but as said that was before any of the workstations went live in the ROC.
