But the car did win the race, and was there before the train.
That may be so, however most of it is staged/fixed, like the caravan fire!

You mean the one where Clarkson gives it a proper test, with various questions [one of which is "Is it green?", to which he replies "Yes... Very], and ultimately finishes with something to do with water? The one where "Basingstoke" appears in the credits?
As someone who last drove in 1973(!) I enjoy Top Gear - even the repeats on Dave. The 'races' (Verbier, Kristiansand, etc) are too contrived - they have to be in order to be filmed properly. Clarkson has TOO much power, cos he's pro-car and anti-everything else, including trains, AND he's too narrow-minded.
I don't think He's too anti rail, after-all, He did suport IKB for greatest Briton.
Hmmm, well...
Show opens inside Barrow Hill, with the presenters (TOC chief execs) standing on the turntable. Features include:
"The News" - gen, sightings.
"Top Track Challenges" - something involving 380 failed doors, rush-hour, and two hundred angry Scottish commuters. Or mistakenly driven, not through the washer, but into the asbestos-removal incinerator.
"A Racer in a reasonably-bad Pacer" - yes, motorsports drivers attempt to get a Pacer down Old Dalby test track in the quickest time.
"Loco bashing" - think what they do to caravans...only this time with old locos.
Naah, I can't see it catching on.
I can see this catching on! There's me, ralphchadkirk and Ivo on the turntable with me and ralph arguing all the time and Ivo calling us both idiots in true Clarkson style![]()
I could see that working!![]()

And i love the idea of a racer in a reasonably bad pacer, I am wetting myself over there
I love Top Gear, it is great, it is an real laugh and some of the cars are fab
Clarkson is anti-truck (slightly) and anti-caravan as far as I can tell, not to mention anti-Labour, anti Peter Mandelson, anti Heat magazine, anti people who try to look cool in fifteen year old Fiesta's, anti football, anti German kitchens....
But he's great, isn't he?
Long live Top Gear!
I think you should change your username in honour of Mr Clarkson.
"HST Powwweeerrrr"
So if I'm Clarkson, which of you two is Hammond and May? And who is going to be our Stig? Or... Do we keep that a secret until the autobiography?![]()
Well seeing as how me and you are going to be blaming ralph for everything, he can be James May and I'll be Hamster
Great. I'll be the one with the superior intelligence!
Clarkson is anti-truck (slightly)
He's anti bus, not truck.
