TPE Manchester Piccadilly crew

Hi all,

So i was wondering if anyone can tell me what routes TPE sign out of Man pic. They must have quite a big route card considering every TPE service passes Pic some point on it’s route. I am interested to know how far they sign E.G do they sign north of York and also do they sign all the way to Edinburgh/Glasgow.

Well I know they sign Hull - Manchester Piccadilly

I believe they may sign to York, and Preston on the Anglo-Scottish services from what I have heard. Couldn't say with certainty though

Liverpool through York to Scarborough,up to hull Manchester airport and Scotland services up the west coast mainline. York/Newcastle drivers take it to Newcastle and Middlseborough.

Edinburgh in one go? Sounds like a bit of a trek!

Does sound like a nice bunch of routes in that link though, if it wasn't for the likely upcoming transfer of some of those routes to northern.

It isn't done in one go, they get on/off at Carlisle on both services they work to Edinburgh.

Drivers and Guards change at Preston too among other places but I was specifically talking about the Edinburgh services worked by Piccadilly Drivers.

Started in May. 6 units hired in Monday to Saturday from Northern to cover shortages caused by the loss of 5 class 170 units.

Is the work for Airport guards similar to the work of the Pic drivers for TPE?

Guards and Drivers sign different routes:

Guards at Piccadilly sign:
Manchester to Liverpool (both routes), Airport, Leeds (both routes and via Wakefield) then on to York and Hull (including diversion via Castleford / Milford Junction). Also Preston and on to Blackpool.

Drivers at Piccadilly sign:
All links - Ardwick Depot
1 link - Manchester to Liverpool, Airport, York and Scarborough.
1 link - Manchester to Liverpool, Airport, York and Hull.
1 link - Manchester to Airport, Blackpool, Windermere (not Barrow anymore) and Edinburgh.

Guards at Airport sign:
The same as Piccadilly Guards plus Barrow, Windermere and Carlisle (but not beyond).
