Yeah it’s the first DLC for a long time that I’ll be picking up quickly. I don’t have Blackpool Branches for the layers, but I might get that in a sale. I’ve got Transpennine, 31, 20’s so should have enough to keep me going. We had the pleasure of a family caravan at Carnforth in the 90’s/early 00’s, so the Intercity era is very nostalgic for me. I also lived in Lancaster, Carnforth and Sedbergh 2007-2013 and it’s one of my favourite routes for scenery so it’s a must buy for me. It’s looking good in the previews and was the best route in TS Classic, so I can’t wait!

The 87's sounds take me right back. I'm looking forward to it muchly 8-)
Yeah, they are from AP. I suggested WCML over Shap, network routes and using AP sounds to Dovetail last year, so that's another reason why I feel obliged to buy this! Hopefully we'll see more AP Sounds in game after this :)

Anyone any guesses as to what the "very exciting announcement" coming up in a few days is?
TSW6? Or a new route (in a new country?) that they’ve kept quiet so far.

There have been some good announcements; class 86 for the WCML, new Welsh Valleys network with the new TfW 153, a new German route that looks stunning and updates on the Japanese route that also looks great.

Er, overhyped? :rolleyes::D
I don’t think that (28 mile Manchester Airport route) is the big reveal as it was already announced, they’ve just provided more detail on it. They are doing a season of reveals, with a new one each day Monday-Fri in December. I think the big one is this Friday.

Preston-Carlisle and the 87 are works of art, much like the Blackpool Branches route. Genuinely worth every penny

Yes they're very good. The 87's sounds take me right back to the days of bashing round Brum. Love it, such a challenge to drive well too.

This is the clue for the 'big reveal' tomorrow. Any guesses?

Personally, I'm thinking that its Woodhead route in BR blue with that being an 08 and the wires warning sign and OHLE indicating Woodhead. Although the livery colour does look a little more DRS Class 20...

That is a class 20 for sure. But what would that actually tell us hint wise? I'm not sure why that would mean woodhead (did woodhead wires look like that?) or indeed anywhere else in particular...

I think that was a screenshot for a teaser for something else that's being announced in the New Year, rather than a hint at the big reveal.

As someone who enjoys the timetable mode, I've always hoped for "random events" which is something that has been talked about, but would imagine could be very difficult to implement. Stuff like train faults, other trains running late, signalling faults etc. Given that as part of any timetable run, you get scored on timekeeping, I'm not sure how a random event that causes your service a delay could be done.

Delay attributor mode! Playable in the future, system simulates for now. Any penalty (deduction in points) only applies if the driver is at fault for the delay rather than network rail :D. (For anyone reading this after 2pm, this is a joke and may not be the big reveal)

That will be a Class 20/FNA flask pack.

That’s nice, I do like a 20. I’m not sure which current route it would be best suited for, unless there’s a new one coming for it- Cumbrian Coast perhaps? The 20’s could work with the RHTT pack too.

Although primarily via the coast some do venture via Shap i think? I could be completely wrong, it just seems like an easy win for them to do that pack.

I've just been lucky enough to be able to upgrade my TSW5 experience from XBOX One X to XBOX Series X. Early days but so far it's a big improvement.

Certainly wasn't on my bingo card. There's something slightly uncanny about seeing a photorealistic Thomas in an equally photorealistic world! o_O

Surprised they're using the West Somerset Railway instead of creating Thomas' branch line—then they could consistently churn out different Sodor lines with new characters as add-ons. Even with a storyline (wonder if the characters are professionally voiced?), trundling along the WSR at 25mph sounds frightfully dull.

Considering the gradients along the line, it's sometimes a challenging drive in the Scotsman so hopefully Thomas makes it more challenging to tackle.

(Image shows a simulated Thomas the Tank Engine in Dunster station on the West Somerset Railway, simulated in Train Sim World 5)

They're having a bloody giraffe!

TBH this is just silly so I am not annoyed - am quite amused. But at the same time... what a let down.

Yet another thing that makes me wish I had something capable of running TSW but probably makes my bank balance very grateful. It looks so satisfyingly silly, I love it!

Just a heads up: Dovetail have announced that they are making their US Sherman Hill route DLC free to download and keep over the Christmas period. They are also running a DLC sale.

For me, it was a huge letdown. Since Dovetail Games hyped the last day so much, we were expecting something revolutionary or, at the very least, core to the simulator's functionality, like the ability to use alternative input methods.

I don't really mind a Thomas DLC, but making it the star of a three-week-long campaign wasn't very smart in my opinion.

It's going to be hawkishly dull as Thomas will be a battery-electric locomotive in Train Sim World 5, according to the developers. Not a steam locomotive. (@-_-)

I've just bought it, £5 off in the DTG summer sale (wow! DTG having a sale!) however I didn't expect it to be discounted for a long time. Main reason for holding back is that I was awaiting a PC upgrade and I think this route would have killed my old PC off and GFX card.
I am certainly impressed with the route, didnt know about Morecambe branch, and an added bonus the tap changer on the class 87 works on my Raildriver console! I read before it would not be supported, but funnily enough whilst configuring another loco in advance controls I saw a pic of the class 87 under class '31/4' config heading, thought it was a bit strange - but calibrated and it worked! it works like a real tap changer so to speak on the throttle lever.

That's a proper bonus. I'd love a proper set up like that but I don't have the space (or a PC to do it justice!)

Looking forward to the Class 86 release in the near future.
