I've been promised that my contract will be with me tomorrow....I wont hold my breath! But if it is, I'll deliver all the relevant details on here, as promised.

Did you get your contract ? I've been told mine will be posted out In a 'few weeks".

No contract (surprise surprise) however did get an email from our trainer with a welcome and uniform order sheet. There will be 7 trainees on my course looking at who the email has been sent too.

I'd just keep pestering her if I was you.

I sent an email on Friday and then about dinnertime today... both days I got an automated reply saying she's been busy with a certain event and will get back to me when possible. Fingers crossed it's tomorrow.

Oh dear, that sounds like a breach of Data Protection. Did they really let you see all the names email addresses of the other people on your course?

Has any Qualified Guys and Gals been given a definitive start date yet or had any more correspondence since the generic email sent at the start of the month?
It seems that their lack of communication is extending to the Trainees as well!

Tyrion, i have heard nothing at all except from passing my medical. I didn't even get the generic email, my mate who i mentioned before got a email about a course starting in November has not heard anything either. From what you both mentioned contracts/offers were going to be sent out after confirmation of final medicals, it would be interesting to know how many qualifieds they are recruiting as I know personally of 18 qualified drivers who were turned down at various stages in the process. It would be nice to have a fair idea of possibly when I would be starting.

I do not think it is that high to be honest maybe 2 courses with 7-8 each on them and that is excluding the 8 ex DB guys that have already started!

Just got the same email aswell which must mean I've passed my medical even though the medical team stated I have done but just been waiting for confirmation from recruitment team. Look forward to meeting those who have passed at the event and hearing details and the contract/increments etc

I've just received this email too, saying congratulations on my job offer, but i haven't received an offer, very confusing. I assume that this email at least confirms i have the job even though an offer has yet to be sent out

Its weird because we know we've passed but just dont have a formal offer yet. Wishful thinking but maybe for those on a later course start date we might get our contracts when we go to York

I agree it's very weird we haven't got our formal offer but those starting after 3rd May may receive our contracts at that event. Also weird how they emailed everyone whilst showing everyone's email address. It's not an issue for me but seems strange the lady done that!

I notice it says apprentice talent team member, which is probably why it was sent to all in error rather than individually

Ok, I'm posting what I think people are going to want to know, anything else you'll have to ask.

Salary

Trainee Train Driver - £26,200
Trainee Train Driver, After completing Traction/Handing/Rules exam - £35,970
Driver Grade - £58,277
King's Cross Drivers - Extra £2,975 per annum.

Expected time from week 1 until passed as competent to drive under instruction - Approx 20 Weeks.

Salary is paid four weekly.

Holiday

As a Trainee Driver you are entitled to 30 days annual leave per year. 20 days of this is rostered into the training plan in one two week block and two one week blocks and is non negotiable. 10 days can be taken at your discretion and by prior agreement with the Operations Training Manager.

Holiday year is 1 Jan to 31 Dec.

Training

Classroom training is based in York, Practical handling is based at King's Cross. (Please note, that is what my contract states, your practical handling may be elsewhere)

You will be paid for any travelling for classroom based training excluding the first hour of travel. This will be paid as per your headline salary.

That's about it folks, the rest is pretty much standard.
