Welcome back to the thread AndrewR232! I did wonder what had happened to you if I'm honest!

I can't be bothered to spend hours sifting through the many moves I made on last week's London bash, my apologies to anyone this disappoints.

andyb2706 including location and times in his observations is certainly a good shout, I do agree with nat67 there as it could certainly prove handy. However, if I was to try and do that as well I would soon give up and end up not bother contributing to this thread.

It's also worth pointing out in nearly 18 months of this thread's running that, so far, I have yet to hear of it actually proving of use to anyone. I was rather hoping that this thread would run as a densely populated thread by many forum members, that it would run as a useful source of gen that could be looked at first before requesting gen on the TOPS Request Thread. Obviously, that hasn't happened and we've lost some of our regular contributors (DanTrainMan185 for one) which is obviously not helping matters. Quite, I'm getting bored of making observations for the sole purpose of posting on this thread too...

At least it's doing better than the PCV Mileage Competition 2015 thread, which hasn't seen posts for some weeks now. Oh well...

Still, all of us on this forum have the opportunity to recreate it, even if it's just populating this thread with sightings. If you were willing to post them on headcodes.info, then there should be nothing stopping you posting them here! Note that I'm aiming that at everyone, not anyone in particular, should it read that way!

I find it hard to believe so few of us are willing to post on this thread. I don't recall it having much difficulty getting off the ground after it was created on 25th September 2013 (yes it really has been going that long!), maybe the thread title doesn't clearly convey what the thread's about?

I appreciate that in todays UK railway scene the tendency is for fixed formations, fixed diagrams, etc., and the same train (EMU, DMU etc.) from end to end. This certainly applies to most passenger services. The tendency is also for loco-hauled services to run the same loco throughout, but not always. So I agree no need in the case of fixed formations running to time, but in other cases it may certainly be of help to somebody.
In my observations some trains were seen in passing while travelling so I have no loco number or even type in a few cases and no idea what service it was, just direction and type, eg freightliner southbound at x time and place, so I look at others observations to see if anything matches.
The main problem is perhaps there are several threads all doing a similar thing but with different titles, so everything appears to be random to an outsider not familiar with local users and their habits/favourite haunts!
