I wouldn't do that, but Transdev does use them on the DalesBus service between Bradford and Malham on a frequent basis.
A once-a-week Sunday leisure service that predominantly uses 30 or 40mph roads (in which I include the lanes between Gargrave and Malham, although they are technically national speed limit it is impractical in a bus to go any faster than that) is a very different prospect to a commercially competitive high-profile service that runs all day, every day, and spends much of the time on dual-carriageways where it can run at 60mph.

Any chance of the Wright Gemini 3s from the 36 moving to X98/99 alongside the e-Citaro and actually having a consistent fleet on these routes?

In September, there will be service changes across Transdev.

Team Pennine:
From 1 September, we'll be making a few changes to our network to coincide with other improvements to buses in the area.

577 Halifax to Boulderclough

These buses will now run along St Peter's Avenue and Pollit Avenue in Sowerby following changes to First Bus 579.

321, 323 and 324 Huddersfield to Netherton and Meltham

We'll no longer run these routes during the evening, on Sundays or on early Saturday mornings - they will be replaced by an improved timetable run by First Bus.

Rosso:
We're making some changes to our times on the 464 and Irwell Line from Sunday 1 September to help improve our timekeeping.

From this date, both of these routes will have a new timetable - we'll also be retiming Irwell Line to help serve colleges better.

Don't forget that we're now running our new later journeys already! On Irwell Line 481, there are new journeys between Blackburn and Rawtenstall at 7.47pm, 9.17pm and 10.47pm. Buses run back to Blackburn from Rawtenstall at 8.36pm and 10.06pm, with a trip to Haslingden at 11.36pm.

On Irwell Line 483, there are new journeys between Burnley and Rawtenstall at 21.20 and 22.20, and from Rawtenstall to Burnley at 20.38, 21.38 and 23.08. Trips after 7pm now serve Newchurch Road, like our buses on a Sunday.

Blackburn:
More buses at the double – that’s what we’re introducing between Blackburn and Chorley as we bring you a bigger and better timetable between the two towns.

Our revised timetable linking the two towns is due to launch on Monday, 2 September, featuring double the number of buses, with a new hourly link serving Chorley and South Ribble Hospital.

Brand new route 2A will follow the existing route 2 between Blackburn and Moss Lane at Lower Wheelton, and will then divert along the A674 and the A6 Preston Road to serve bus stops outside the Hospital, before continuing to Chorley Interchange.

We’re working with Lancashire County Council to introduce our new route, using funding from the Government’s Bus Service Improvement Programme.

Our General Manager, Frank Stanisauskis, said: “We’re delighted to be able to double our frequency between Blackburn and Chorley, and at the same time, to make reaching Chorley and South Ribble Hospital a lot easier for staff, patients and visitors.

“Using our buses to reach the hospital takes away all the stress and cost of car parking on site – we’ll stop on Preston Road near the Euxton Lane roundabout, just a few steps from the hospital’s main entrance."

Evening and Sunday journeys on route 2 will continue to be run by Stagecoach to an unchanged hourly timetable, supported by Chorley Council and Lancashire County Council. The Blackburn Bus Company’s best value week, month and longer period tickets can be used on Stagecoach journeys for just 50p per trip.

Minor timetable changes will also be made to The Blackburn Bus Company’s routes 1, 4, 6 & 7 and Hotline 152 from Sunday 1 September, while revised routes and stopping places in Manchester city centre will be introduced on Red Express X41.

Flyer:
We're making some changes to our times on FLYER from Sunday 1 September to help improve our timekeeping.

From this date, times on many journeys will change by a few minutes to ensure we're running as punctually as possible for you. This won't affect all trips - but it's best to check your journey on the timetable to see if you'll be affected by this.

There have also been fare changes at Transdev introduced recently.
Harrogate:
As the costs to our business continue to rise, we need to review our fares to ensure we can provide the best possible service to you. For many customers, there will be no change. If you buy singles in Harrogate all fares will now be £2, matching the national maximum fare. Returns will be £4. There are no changes to under 19 single fares, but the Knaresborough 7 under 19 ticket becomes £8.00. Some of our longer term tickets will change prices from 5th August, the new prices are below.

The good news is:
• Keighley’s £1 local fare is unchanged - see where you can get for £1
• ‘Short hop’ single fares will now be £1.50
• The £2.00 maximum fare is unchanged
• There are no changes to under 19, or M-Card tickets

Fare Changes at Coastliner have been posted in Post #4307.

Shame GM Saver tickets will no longer be sold on Rosso, Burnley and Blackburn buses.

Will Blackburn need extra vehicles for the revised services from next month especially considering Chorley route is going every 30mins (2/new 2A routes combined)?

The 2A will need two vehicles which are accounted for in the fleet changes posted above (posting 4345) assuming some of those occur by then with Blackburn gaining 10 vehicles offet by eight being withdrawn.
Route 4 at Harrogate is being changed to serve the Army Foundation College
We're making a few small changes to the 4 to King Edwin Park - there will be a few minor changes to help with our punctuality - plus we'll be running into the Army Foundation College on Penny Pot Lane.

I'm intrigued – the bus already runs to the turning circle on Penny Pot Lane ... are they extending it 150m to the bus stop in the entrance to the college itself? Surely squaddies should be able to cope with walking 150m!

I presume its more for staff than the squaddies. If they can keep time in terms of interworking with the 6 no doubt think its worth doing given spotting a 4 with a passenger on it is pretty rare, best exampled by a pretty full 1635 route 3 working running just behind an empty 1640 route 4, with those on the 3 wanting the one stop on Skipton Road they both share no doubt thinking they would have been better catching the 4.

Well this will surprise some

We're really pleased that City of York Council have awarded us a new contract for our local bus services in York. There will be a few changes to reflect their new requirements and we will now serve Germany Beck for the first time.

The 19 - York, Rawcliffe and Skelton

We will now run all trips on the 19 Mondays to Saturdays, including those run by York Pullman currently.

The 20 - Rawcliffe, Clifton Moor, Haxby, Monks Cross, Heworth

This will route will run exactly the same as it does now.

The 24, 25 and 26 Acomb, Derwenthorpe or South Bank to York and Fulford

The 24 and 26 will merge into a new 24, running from Acomb Shops along the current route to York - it will then run along the 26 route to Fulford. The 25 from Derwenthorpe will still extend to Fulford, giving 2 buses per hour from York to Fulford.

NEW – both the 24 and 25 will serve Germany Beck after Fulford
• Customers for South Bank on the current 26 will now need to use Firstbus service 11
• Customers who use the 24 from Ascot Way and St Stephen’s Road will now need to use Connexions 16

The 14 Foxwood, York, Haxby

There are no changes to this route at the moment.

Despite what everyone was expecting...Transdev have retained their York routes, and indeed gained elements of the 19 York Pullman worked.

But, I thought Transdev didn’t want the services under any circumstance?

And the MDs job was on the line for overspending on York depot which would now be half empty?

It shows once again, that VOSA registrations don’t tell the full story straightaway

I'm noticing on tracking today that the Harrogate - Leeds 7 is diverting into the Thorner Road entrance to Leeds Festival. I know they did this a few years ago but if they are doing it now, why aren't they promoting it? Surely this is a great way to get people onto your buses, linking them with a major festival. I get they may not want to promote it from Leeds due to the existing festival buses but they could promote it for trips from Wetherby and Harrogate.

Heading to Leeds Festival? Jump on the 7 and we’ll take you right into Bramham Park!
Why bother battling endless queues onsite for a parking space? Get your wellies on and let us do the driving.

I see that the new timetable for York’s 24 shows that the first journey from Acomb is nearly in York at 9am whereas before it ran some many minutes later. A lot of elderly pass holders are not going to be happy but worse it means this first journey is now near pointless.

Its 4 minutes earlier, hardly going to make much difference

It is mostly used by elderly pass holders so being that few minutes early means their passes cannot be used (in theory). There are a few fare paying passengers but they are very few as from Acomb most people prefer and always wait for First’s 1.

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

The only regular worker on the bus (in a York shop near Piccadilly) works part time and has an elderly pass!

To those who don’t know this service, it is usually served by an Enviro 200 and occasionally a Mellors “van”. It goes round all the back streets and therefore serves a predominantly elderly population. If the elderly cannot use the first service from Acomb then they might as well not run it. There are alternatives with First’s 1, 5, 10 etc which are acceptable to most but not all. To be honest I am amazed it still runs at all in these financially restrained times.

According to West Yorkshire Information Service fleetlist (accessible at www.wyis.org) two more Enviro 200s are apparently due at the Rawcliffe depot.

Maybe those will

a) just boost the allocation there or
b) lead to further Versas being wiihdrawn (there are now only four at Rawcliffe and one of those is withdrawn according to the fleetist) or
c) or result in the two Mellor Stratas going elsewhere - Keighley has 20, Elland 7 and Burnley 5 according to the fleetlist.

Would suspect the tender sets the parameters of the service and the Council for some reason have always requested an arrival in York just after 9. If the services are only for concessionary pas holders there is equally no need for the first four 24/25s from Fulford and the first two 25s from Derwenthorpe. Probably just after 9 is to cater for shop workers given many York shops do not open until 9.30 or 10.

The requirement for local buses has increased by one with the new contracts ... PVR of two on the 19, two on the 20 and three on the 24/25, so up to seven buses needed on the road at a time. The current crop of 5 E200MMCs, 4 Versas and 2 Stratas would be ample for that, but it may be that they want a more homogenous fleet.

It looks like some of the 2012 Versas have already disappeared from the fleet, although I've not seen them pop up with any other operators yet.

According to the fleetlist Versas 210-212 remain active at York (Rawcliffe) with 209 withdrawn
208 is active at Starbeck along with 215 which was only briefly at York and withdrawn 216.
The rest of the 2012 batch they are shown as remaining with Transdev albeit withdrawn; 207 and 213 at Burnley and 214 at Blackburn (Intack).

Any ideas on when 1063/1103 are due to finally see withdrawal? I’ve been watching their continued soldiering on with interest!

1063 and 1103 were mentioned in the fleet changes list in posting 4345 as being two of eight vehicles leaving Blackburn. The others being three B7RLEs, 1700 1735 and 1755 and three Geminis, B7 2763 and B9s 2425 and 2426. Those are once replacements arrive;
- B7RLE 1861 from Harrogate once the eCitaros cs arrive their.
- Versas 278, 292 and 293 from Idle (Flyer), presuambly when the hybrid Citaros arrive their although 293 is currently not MOTed so could be moved once reactivated.
- B9s 2774, 2775 and 3613 from Harrogate once the Enviro400EVs arrive
- B9s 2776 to 2778 from Keighley as a result of the 36 Gemini 3s moving their for the Aireline and Daleway service once the Enviro400EVs arrive at Harrogate.
These changes are presumably going to take time through the repainting of vehicles that will be needed, other than the two B9s leaving Blackburn and two of the Versas which are in Transdev Go livery. The B9s moving to Blackburn are dual purpose seated of lesser capacity (61 [3613] or 67 compared to 81)

Connexions' (Harrogate Coach Travel) 16 has now taken over the 24's Acomb loop though with the 16 having a departure out of Acomb at 9:25, allowing those with bus passes to board.

The route from Green Lane is via Tudor Road, Danesfort Avenue, Kingsway West, Ascot Way, Woodford Place, Windsor Garth, Kingsway West, Danesfort Avenue, Gale Lane, St Stephens Road, Askham Lane, back to Green Lane.

I’m not sure Blackburn has 81 seater B9s does it?

Apologies - got 2425/2426 mixed up with 2451/2452 that are already at Burnley. 2425/2426 have 69 seats so slightly higher than their incoming replacements.

The 16 bus route has not taken over the Carr Lane, Grantham Drive, Sowerby Road and Lindsey Avenue council estate whose passengers if elderly passholders (and there are many) cannot use the first 24 service.
