Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Seriously?

The most important thing in business is, er, punctuality. Also useful for the train not to be so overcrowded you can't get your laptop out. I'd struggle to think of worse.

Mind you, how is Yotel a mid-range hotel? It clearly isn't.

Do we know what the criteria used were? It.might be for business travel services or account management or business customer care or even for sponsorship!

It doesnt mean they are the best toc. It is a non award for a non thing!

I'm sure what swung the judging panel decision was the Mk5 first class space being right behind the loco.

What really disappointed me on the winners list was to learn the name Brunel has been appropriated by what seems like a glorified minicab service, but nevermind.

Now the other TOCs know what to do to win next year;
- cancel hundreds of trains a week (bonus if you cancel all trains on at least one route);
- make sure the trains you do run are late, terminate short at the drop of a hat & are of inadequate length to accommodate all the prospective passengers;
- accuse passengers with valid tickets of being criminals or, at best, liars.

Had never heard of these, so took a look. Their website boasts "self service check in", 'cabins' rather than rooms (some apparently with no window) .... I didn't get any further. These awards must be some sort of parody, surely.

They should've cancelled the award just as the person from Transpennine walked to the platform to collect it

I’d never heard of this mob until today which says it all... did the “event” actually take place?

Knock up a website in a few mins, couple of free images off google and away you go.

It’s like the local papers nicking Content off Trip Advisor. Surely a Moany Tiles type can knock this up in their lunch break.

The judges are "senior travel buyers and procurement managers" who apparently consider "the wide range of factors that contribute to an organisation’s overall success, from innovation to performance, and from client and staff retention rates to customer satisfaction ratings". And they pick the winner in November.

It doesnt mean they are the best toc. It is a non award for a non thing!
Exactly. It's just a trade junket for £300 per head.

How about prizes for:

Delivering as promised
Trains on time
Comfortable seats by windows
Meals and refreshments available
Understandable, logical pricing
Customer not profit focussed service
No overcrowding
Value for money
Getting people from A to B

All of the fundamentals of a service. Get these right, then go for the other stuff.

Before everyone gets a bee in their bonnet. The awards were judged way back in October and focus on engagement with the business community.
