Got the train from Garforth into work yesterday and noticed masts have been installed from the East Garforth side nearly to the platforms
That is definitely a key part of the project so good news. The latest pictures from Robert Stenhouse on Flickr (sorry don't know how to link) shows the new bridge abutments for the new road bridge at Ravensthorpe are fitted with support pads ready for the main crossbeams.
The crossbeams which look to span all four tracks are on site so the lift may be imminent.

What you can usually do is copy the page url while in the flickr photostream view, then paste it in your thread:The latest pictures from Robert Stenhouse on Flickr (sorry don't know how to link) shows the new bridge abutments for the new road bridge at Ravensthorpe are fitted with support pads ready for the main crossbeams.

Interesting that the portakabin city at Batley’s being dismantled today.Batley and Dewsbury Area
Starting in June works are planned for installation of OLE between Dewsbury viaduct and Howley Mill Lane, Batley.
I managed to capture a picture of the letter for the planned works and schedule from one of the station notice boards at Batley station.

At York this afternoon and noticed a train leave on electric but others arrived on diesel.According to the Network Rail March update (screenshotted in the quoted post), Entry into service for Church Fenton - York electrification is currently programmed for April 2026.
*Church Fenton-Colton Junction, technically I guess. At York this afternoon and noticed a train leave on electric but others arrived on diesel.

Wow that's a big crane. Surely must be for the roof.I visited Huddersfield Station yesterday. The refurbished roof section looks good, though I'm puzzled why both end sections of the canopy are being refurbished, but a lengthy section in the middle isn't (yet?). In the worksite area, there was a huge crane, and a very large section of what looked like a bridge - photo attached.
Could it be where the overbridge is to be constructed?I visited Huddersfield Station yesterday. I think that’s definitely the case - the Flickr photo referred to earlier had 19 of 20 beams in place, all except the furthest one in your picture, the edge beam with the rebar for the parapet standing vertically.
That’s being done when the station is down to only 3 platforms.I visited Huddersfield Station yesterday. the new footbridge is going to be at the Far Eastern end of the stationCould it be where the overbridge is to be constructed?
It’s been complete and in use whenever an 802 gets diverted/is booked that way for monthsSorry on a different subject if I may - has there been any progress with Guide Bridge to Stalybridge recently? I remember it being said the wiring was pretty much complete and it just needed joining up at each end.

I'm confused. I thought Deighton was remaining open until the new station had been built and the line tied in. Ravensthorpe would be closing though, so that the flyover could be built. Or is Ravensthorpe closing in 2027?For those who are interested in what is planned in the next year or so, the Engineering Access Statements are publicly available on Network Rail's website.
I have created a bit of a list but for those of you who are familiar with Access, you'll know these dates are very flexible so I wouldn't take them as gospel.
February 2026 - Deighton station will close. There'll be some drainage work around the tunnels to the West of Huddersfield with some more work on the canopy. Work will start to install Fast lines around Heaton Lodge Jn.
Ta.My understanding is that Ravensthorpe will remain closed for much longer (circa 18-24 months) whereas Deighton will be unable to be served for a shorter period. The existing "flatpack" platforms (and the access pathways) need to be removed before the site is ready for the replacement structures to be completed and opened. There will also (unless I'm mistaken) be a period in which Deighton will only be able to be accessed via one of the two platforms, hence the temporary footbridge being installed there.
