My nomination is The AMEX the home of Brighton and Hove Albion. Which sits adjacent to Falmer and the East Coastway route. 1734958182796.png

The Giant Axe at Lancaster.

From the Upper Tier of the East Stand at Elland Road, you can watch the trains on the ECML spur if the football is dull…

Aberystwyth Town FC's ground can be seen from trains approaching Aberystwyth on both National Rail and Vale of Rheidol. There's also Padarn United FC whose ground is between the two routes as they part ways on the edge of town.

AFAIK you can't see trains from inside Huddersfield Town's stadium, but you can see the stadium from trains as they leave Huddersfield in the direction of Deighton. You could see the trains from inside the old Leeds Road ground though. Neither were "next to" the railway of course.

It's not in the United Kingdom but the Aviva Stadium in Dublin is right next to a railway line and the previous Lansdowne Road stadium had a railway line running under the stand. Ones that are in the United Kingdom in Northern Ireland are Taylors Avenue, The Showgrounds, Seaview, The Oval and Windsor Park all back onto a railway line.

Forres Mechanics (Mosset Park)
Nairn County (Station Park)

Edit: How could I forget... Inverurie Loco Works (Harlaw Park)

Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium is a few hundred metres north of the Tees Valley line but doesn’t have a station.

I believe Cargo Fleet station used to be almost exactly at that point on the line but was removed a few years before the stadium opened in an extreme act of poor forward planning.

Walsall FC's Bescot Stadium, from one stand you can see the trains going through Bescot Station and the traffic on the M6 between Jct 9-8.

In fact the old Fellows Park ground used to be in the triangle of the Walsall - Bescot & Walsall - Wolverhampton lines

You can clearly see the world's oldest stadium from the main line in Maidenhead.

Ramsbottom United FC has the East Lancs Railway passing next to the ground.

Image. Football ground with railway line passing by.

At Dronfield the Midland Main Line into Sheffield passes in a cutting behind the Coach and Horses ground (Sheffield FC).

Luton's Kenilworth Road is next to a former railway line, now a guided busway...

Both Old Traffords are next to railway lines, the football ground next to the CLC, the cricket ground next to what is now the Metrolink. I imagine both would be visible from the back of hospitality areas.

Maidenhead United's place is bang next to the GWML

Depending on who the away team is, the trains may be the best entertainment on offer
I recall that the 1979 British movie 'Yesterday's Hero' starring Ian McShane was shot on location at Maidenhead's ground and the opening title sequence shows a Class 31 going past on a parcels train.

The Bet365 Stadium is right next to the railway but no station. The Coventry Building Society Arena is next to the railway and we all know the history of that station.

Hull City's ground is another new(ish) ground built next to a railway line.

Just to clarify, I'm referring to football grounds where you can see trains passing by while you stand on the terraces. Grounds which are near railway lines but where you can't actually see the trains don't count.

Sorry to be pedantic but hey, my thread, my rules! ;)

I know someone has said Grimsby you can see one goal between the Main Stand and Pontoon Stand. If you sit in the Upper Findus and Pontoon you will be able to see EMR/ TPE services go past between New Clee and Cleethorpes

Victoria Park, home of Hartlepool United, was bang up close to the Durham Coast line and the former loco shed - but IIRC the 'temporary' stand (erected after a Zeppelin attack in 1916 (?) faced away from the tracks. So not sure if you could actually enjoy the sight of a J27 hauling 46 coal empties towards Seaham.

Pretty sure you can see the Camp Hill line from within St Andrews (Birmingham City). Whether a train would actually be running during a match is anyone’s guess!

You can see the trains go by on the Southport line from Burscough's ground (also used by Skelmersdale).

The east stand of Barnet's ground gives you a good unobstructed view of the Jubilee line embankment behind the opposite stand (similar in nature to the view of the GWML from Maidenhead Utd's north stand)

Was at Barnet's ground a couple of years ago. We left at 5-0 down and saw the Barnet players celebrating their 6th from the train.

Several football clubs have used Murrayfield Rugby Stadium and you not only get a main line you get Haymarket shed. Saw my first Deltic from the old stand. And you see the tram station.

I remember the first round of the FA cup in, I think, 1959 and seeing the away fans excursion train arrive hauled by a Royal Scot.
One of the papers was quoted as saying something like - “Crewe fans drawn on mystery trip”. Pretty sure it was the Express.

I wonder if they came via Bridge ?

Their ground moved a little to the North a few years ago, so the railway is very visible.
