Not to be confused with the similarly named thread which as far as I can tell is actually asking a different question...
I was wondering what, for each TOC, is the shortest journey possible, by distance. So we're looking at (in most cases) consecutive stations where a service operated by a TOC calls at both, and obeying any pick-up/set-down restrictions. Some are more obvious than others though. Ones I can think of are:
Arriva Trains Wales: presumably Cardiff Bay to Cardiff Queen Street, though could be Manchester Piccadilly to Oxford Road.
Arriva Rail North: Manchester Piccadilly to Manchester Oxford Road.
Arriva Cross Country: presumably Edinburgh Waverley to Haymarket - assume this also applies to Scotrail and VTEC?
AGA: Brundall to Brundall Gardens.
TPE: Another one for Oxford Road to Piccadilly!
SWT: Exeter St David's to Exeter Central, I assume.
GWR: could be as above, other contenders being the two Lympstone stations or Lelant to Lelant Saltings if any services call at both (heard somewhere they didn't.
I'll leave the rest for others...
