Are we talking about originally double tracked sections of line which have now been singled? Must be a few out-of-use weed-infested platforms on the opposite side to the remaining running line.
This thread started off about closed stations with still existing platforms. It keeps getting side-tracked (pun intended) on to open stations with disused platforms.
