London Victoria bus station have been offered just over £50m for it's departure terminal. The bidding company, Alenvon Termini Group from Portugal say within the next decade in plans to inherit the entire London Victoria bus station and turn it into a "Megastation".
However, Chief Executive Don Marton of Transpabus Ltd, a company who were previously merged with London Victoria Coach Station Ltd, issued the following unpublished statement to Buses magazine.
"I seriously doubt that some Portugese company can just enter the game and offer a reasonably low sum of money for half a bus station they wish to claim. The current operators of Victoria would not offer half of there business for £50m. I also doubt the five leading supervisors of the station, London Victoria Coach Station Ltd, The British Bus & Coach Council, The Road Travel Authority and Lexta Systems would allow such bloody nonsence"
