I quite enjoy video games, well i've got enough of them <D

My newest console is the Playstation 3 and my oldest console has to be the Amiga 600, with PS2,Dreamcast,PS1,SNES,NES all in between :D

Favourite Games: Heavy Rain, FIFA 10, Resident Evil Series, GT1,2,3

Least Favourite: GTA IV (horrible control/gameplay), MW2 (xbox "fanboy" syndrome)

I miss my old Amiga 500m :( My dad bought it through local classifieds only to find when he went to collect it he was buying from an LTS (yes, really) colleague!

Least Favourite: GTA IV (horrible control/gameplay), MW2 (xbox "fanboy" syndrome)

Hurrah! Someone else doesn't like it!

360 or PS3 :D?

Whilst I dont know what the build quality is like on the PS3 Slim, or the 360 S - but for the original designs, the PS3 always appeared to be better built, but I think that the 360 currently has the edge - the whole Xbox live community etc with its regular Inside Xbox etc and other online features pushes it ahead of the PSN, plus at the moment (and this is probably down to lazy developers) multiplatform games seem to run better on the 360.

I currently have both (pre slim models) and if I was buying again just one, I'd probably go for the 360, especially now with the S model..

What, so jacking a car, shooting some innocent people and delivering drug money to Russians isn't to everyone's tatse :D :D

I personally find sandbox games really difficult to play as i sorta lose interest quickly.
When my mind works out that all you're basically playing is an rpg with one of those annoying "fetch this item and comeback to me and i give you another item which you can trade for something greater" missions, its not so different to (generic) J-RPG's which everyone is starting to take the mick out of.

In other words, I didnt feel the missions varied enough

I have a PS3 and Xbox 360 currently and not a great selection of games, but on the PS3 I do enjoy the F1 game, although I find the constant attempts to spin the car rather annoying, and wet races are a joke, but once I'm in the swing of it their is no stopping me! I can do a lap of Manaco in a Super Aguri in about 1m11s.

I think the main problem with the PS3 is that most developers (I think everyone except Sony) programme first on Xbox, so there is very little you can get on PS3 that you can't get on Xbox.

I like the Star Trek game on Xbox, but it is a tad easy to complete. COD4 was pretty good, particularly the mission where you are in the aircraft, love that one, but I was really disappointed by MW2 and I found GTA 4 quite boring.

I find the football games rather poor too, maybe good for amongst mates, but against the AI they can get very frustrating IMO.

I don't know the ins and outs of it, but the PS3 is currently very hard to write for, thus a lot of games are ported over from x-box. This is slowly changing though, and as I said, the more developers get to grips and fully utilise the PS3's capabilities then we'll see a vast improvement. Hopefully! :)

I have a near-invincible team on the original Stadium. It's only ever lost when at a huge disadvantage (e.g. six Legendary Pokémon, or when the opponents are not rental and have a decisive Level advantage), or to itself :D And that's in ten years of playing!

It's since lost to a Parasect (and Spore/Slash/Dig) :|, albeit under my control - as was the "super" team...

I'll probably get White when it comes out (and probably an American one so I can play it early ).

I wanted to resurrect this thread to discuss the new versions of Pokémon, Black and White. First off, it goes without saying that the bit in red, above, is a load of twaddle. How I love the fact that we got Gen V before the Yanks, even if it was by a mere two (and a bit allowing for time zones) days! But anyway, what do the few of us to have played it make of it? I think that the new games take the series to a whole new level; Game Freak have pretty much ignored the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" rule and turned a probably excellent game into the best to date - against stiff competition.

I would also like to boast a little. I bought White on the day it came out, and (allowing for a simulataneous start with my brother and two cousins) first turned it on at about 17:30. By 20:30, I had a shiny Pidove! :D One-nil to me! I also have a Lv100 Chandelure, with 336 Special Attack (not bad considering it was trained through the game and does not have a pro-SpA nature).

N.B.: If no-one answers this, it shows how sad I am, even by railway standards! :D

Got Pokemon white meself mate. I'm using the fact that I work in the local game shop as my excuse though. ;) Saying that, I had to actually borrow a DSi from work to actually play it, but had to hand it back in today (7 day limit on borrowing) so no Pokemon till 3DS now. Was just before the 6th gym when I finished for now. Brought HeartGold as well for old times sake, as I was the perfect age when Red/Blue first came out. [/EndOfGeek]

Normally just a PS3 man, main games being FIFA, GTA (The DLC Episodes are fantastic) and Gran Turismo 5.

Major jealousy!! Been looking to continue my lucky streak after I found 4 shinys in my Diamond (nothing in Platinum or Heart Gold though)

I has Pokémon Black and received it on Thursday afternoon (thanks Game!!) managed to complete the main story by the Saturday night/Sunday morning. Who did you start with? I have Tepig eggs (adamant nature) that I can distribute

As my sig suggested at the time of writing, I've been playing it too much (56 hours)! No more Shiny Pokémon as yet though, which is kinda obvious. I should note that I have a nasty record of only finding one per region:

Kanto/Sevii: Phanpy (so strictly speaking nothing from Kanto but hey)
Johto: Gyarados x ? (duh; only one from HG)
Hoenn: Voltorb
Sinnoh: Wooper (in the Safari Zone! - got away with it...)
Unova: Pidove (thus my first 3rd Gen or later)

I started with Oshawott, and to be honest I don't know why! My Samurott is the second-least reliable member of my team (beaten only by Swoobat, who I only used because it was something extra early on and by the time I could get the Psychic/Flying I had wanted, Sigilyph, it was too high a level to justify disposing of. At present, my team is as follows:

Chandelure Lv100
Klinklang Lv55
Krookodile Lv100
Lilligant Lv54 (likely next Lv100)
Samurott Lv56
Swoobat Lv56

I put a Lv2 Liilipup through the League with an Exp. Share to see how high it would get -it fell just 400 EXP shy of Lv50. Damn... :(

I might be interested in having a Tepig actually. As I understand it, Emboar is the only non-Water-Type, besides Mew, who can learn Scald, which would give Rock and Ground -Types a nasty shock. Assuming I can find a Ditto, I'd be quite happy to give an Oshawott in return. But not for the moment.

As a finishing note, I am determined to find a Shiny Staryu! I have tried and tried and tried again in previous generations, but nothing yet... Maybe a wild Starmie would do it? As my personal favourite Pokémon, that would be a nice treat. And with a 70% chance of finding one or the other in Surfing Spots in Route 13, it's not as unlikely as before.

I'm very much into driving and simulation games, over the years I've played at some point:

MSTS, BVE (trains)
Ship Sim (boats)
Flight Sim 2004, combat FS (planes)
18 wheels of steel, Mercedes truck racing (trucks)
Silent Hunter 3 (German U-boats)
F1 2002, TOCA 2 & Race driver, various Colin McRaes, NASCAR Racing, NFSU, (cars)
Command and Conquer
...and many many more

Silent Hunter 3 is outstanding, but it's easy for a quick jaunt around the North Sea to turn into a many-hours game of hide and seek when a couple of type 2 destroyers ping you while you're trying to pick off a merchant convoy!

You may have played this already, but a really good buy if you liked 18 Wheels of Steel would be 'UK Truck Simulator' or 'Euro Truck Simulator.'
I have the UK Version and it's very, very good. The motorways are excellently designed. You can visit eighteen different cities across England, Wales and Scotland.
