Hi All!

Does anyone know what hours / shift patterns (i.e. days, times etc) are worked for Virgin Trains as an Information Controller?

I might have a chance to go for this position, but I am unsure what the hours are like.

I'd be grateful if anyone can give me the 'heads up' before I decide!

Thanks

It will be a 24-hour desk so it will be a mixture of morning/evening/night shifts.

Might be the Mailbox initially, but apparently they are moving out back to their offices on Smallbrook Queensway.

Hasn't this position already passed the deadline date? I thought it had anyway.

I was told both First and Virgin franchise bids had it moving out of Birmingham altogether to be combined with resource control. All on the shelf now presumably but come a few years it might all be up in the air again...

Shifts are 6-2 / 2-10 / 10-6 rotating.

The position will start in the Mailbox but will shortly be moved to the head office opposite New St station.

Interviews are Tuesday of next week (the 26th of Feb?).

Where did you get this information from? Both are incorrect...

I applied (and got) a resource control position with another large TOC.

To be honest the hours are quite unsociable but totally worth it when looking at job satisfaction and prospects.

Was going to say, the lads I know in NR control have said Virgin are meant to be going too which is where I got it from.
