Back in Sept my wife and I got married at GCR and we would highly recommend it to anyone who’s considering getting hitched and has an interest in anything railway and vintage.
we had the ceremony in the gallery room, then the wedding breakfast on the veranda car which was brilliant. We had our own bar and toilet so it was really nice to have our own party atmosphere, plus the food was amazing!!
then we had the evening party at Quorn in the freshly refurbished marquee, ohh and we had a steam carousel too! We had a pie and mash van for the evening food which was something different.
The guys at the railway were great, we were the first couple to get married there and as it was being planned during the pandemic it was fun at times but it all came together and we had an amazing day!!
The run down of the day was the wedding party arrived at Quorn and got on a train to Loughborough. We had a reserved section of the train just for us so we had seats etc… mean while my wife to be was on her way direct to Loughborough.. after the ceremony there was time for some photos before going off for a lovely meal.. then back to Loughborough for some more photos before all returning to Quorn on the same train my self and the wedding party arrived on in the morning, then some more photos and a few goes on the carousel before the evening guest arrived.
