Newer technology....different train.

I think they are probably through wiring for multiple working, so I agree with matt here.

Hello Kodiak Bear,

I believe i am right, but i will allowed to be corrected :lol:

The Class 67's are fitted with Time-division multiplexing (TDM), this is the same type of Push pull system as fitted to the Class 47/7's, Class 86/87/90 & 91, i believe it was also fitted to the Badger too.

See the following pictures;

Class 47/7

They were fitted with this form of Push pull equipment to fulfill their Postal duties when working in Tandem with the converted 307 EMU stock (PCV).

PCV controll unit.

I suspect that the push pull jumpers are so small is because they TDM is a form of digital remote controll unlike the ex Southern Bagpipe style which was pneumatically controlled by the 27 way jumper cables.

I hope i have this right.

Karl :)

I thought the ETH was located under the buffers, the orange boxes. I have had confirmation from a mate of mine who is a fitter that its TDM.

Yep - think you're right. ETH would be thicker cables.

I can now confirm after much hunting arround the web as its been Bugging me that the official designation of the TDM Cables is "RCH jumper" see here (3rd picture from the top) for the cab front diagram, with thanks to therailwaycentre.com.
