Generally speaking, an STP is a "short term plan" that has been put in the system specifically so it can run, so yes, it should run for sure.

STP's have a better chance of operating than certain WTT freight paths, but there is still a risk of them not running, for various reasons.

I don't think that's true in general. It depends on why it was put in specifically! If it was put in specifically because it's a one-off schedule that doesn't usually run, then yes it probably will run. But if it was put in specifically because it's a modification to a schedule needed because of engineering work or other disruption, but the original schedule itself doesn't usually run, then there is no more likelihood of the modified schedule running. But the modified schedule still has to be created, just in case it is needed.

STP...

...should run for sure.
As others have said, that isn't true, unfortunately.:|

Freight-wise, there are hundreds of STP paths each month
which don't run, and VAR paths are even worse!

This is why Freightmaster Online exists in a world of "free gen";
I spend huge amounts of time manually filtering out over 90% of
the non-running freight services (WTT, VAR and STP) in order to
provide realistic timetables which reflect what runs in real life,
with the added bonus of headcodes, booked motive power,
type of train, etc.

Sorry for the blatant plug! :oops:
