What exerience/time do I need to do a Lookout course ?

I got my PTS card a few months ago and wondered how much track time I need before doing the lookout course ?

I would imagine that if you have your PTS card, you have it, and can do whatever courses you like with it. I have a PTS card also, and have had exactly zero hours of track time, (not even when I did the course) yet I'd still be expected to go trackside to protect my train as and when it was required.

If you still a blue hat I doubt you would be put through your lookout

It depends between companies really, when i got my first pts 12 years ago there was no blue hat scheme however general time for lookout is 6 months experience then coss 12 months. But this can vary really, like all the competencies each course is more apparent the more experience you have
