Right, so I'm going to be going from Edinburgh to Newcastle on the 19th March with East Coast. I'll be on the 19:00 from Waverley and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me whether this is likely to be an HST or a 225?

Thanks in advance.

If the train is usually busy, you might want to buy a Haymarket - Edinburgh ticket and pick it up there :)

The timetables are listed HERE and one can get an approximate (subject to changes) idea of the type of traction from the column header.

The 1E27 is indeed listed as "E", or 225.

but just remember, if you're relying on the timetables, that they've got that XC HST set on hire for another 4-5 weeks which is covering some 225 diagrams (tho not this one). [See separate thread]
