I had an odd moment of early morning befuddlement on Christmas Eve - Paignton has a new footbridge!

Is this linked to the numerous reports of grants and other funding for the branch thats been reported in the local rag for the last two years? All I'd seen until now was some potplants at Torquay!

anyone know if this is to be a permanent fixture or if it is there whilst the current one gets a lick of paint?

It's about halfway up the platform, around ten meters from the end of the canopy facing Goodrington.

Looks to be a long term structure - no services between there and Newton Abbot today and tomorrow due to 'Bridge Construction'

At Paignton, restoration of the buildings, canopies and footbridge costing £1.13million will be carried out between October and March.
