Wilko social media has today announced that the next two shops to open are St Albans and Rotherham.

I’m guessing these are the final two of the original 5 that were supposed to reopen before Christmas, although only 3 actually happened.

Who's actually controlling Wilko's social media, these days? Is that effectively CDS (Superstores International) Ltd, trading as The Range?

Our local Wilkinson's is going to re-open as a B&M, which is interesting as it wasn't on any of the lists published at the time so we all thought it was destined to remain empty.

B&M have been in for a second round of stores, in addition to the ones they previously agreed

That makes a lot of sense, although the first anyone knew of it locally was when the Licencing Act Variation notices went up on the premises.

Sheffield Centre Wilko’s had a Cafe upstairs, was run by Mazarellas staff & never really reopened after COVID, it was only busy around Lunchtime & closed up mid-afternoon.
OT, but having only lived in Sheffield since 2015, I always wondered how the upper floors of Wilkos connected to Castlegate House!

Interesting. Is that to be within the existing premises in the Dolphin Centre do we know?
It says it’s in the Dolphin Shopping Centre, yes.

So I guess it will be in the old store as there isn't really anything else free in The Dolphin (yes it's officially "The Dolphin" now), when I was last there a couple of weeks ago there still seemed to be a lot of fixtures and fittings still present.

Still with 'Wilko' branding? Or as something else?

The one-time 'Wilko' store in my area of Greater Manchester was one of those that has subsequently reopened as a Poundland.

Yes, they will be reopened as Wilko shops just like the other three have already.

The products will be different though as The Range have brought across many of their own existing products and suppliers, with some of Wilko’s old products not being stocked also.

The former Wilko store in Hucknall town centre, Nottinghamshire, reopens on 15th March as The Range. Interesting that this is not being reopened as a Wilko shop.

This is a decent sized store with its own car park and some year's ago used to be a Safeway store but was sold off due to been competition concerns (Safeway was bought by Morrison's who have a large store in nearby Bulwell)

I think it is likely that "The Range" would be inclined take larger sites and reopen them as "The Range" rather than re-opening as "Wilko" *IF* there is no other branch of the "The Range" nearby. Any evidence of that ?.
