Just found someones fotopic site and has a picture of a Mk 3 in the new livery http://dan43004.fotopic.net/p50574969.html
Check it out.
Check it out.
...it'll look more 170 than 220.So grey with pink doors and XC logo under the windows... I bet it has plum/brown power car ends then to match the voyager s....looks ok actually, Kinda like the NX ones, but without the stripe - and pink doors instead of blue.
i do quite like the xc livery... its different but it works.
The PC's livery is half silver and half warm black with the slope type design. The X at one end and XC logo on the middle.
I hope the internal refurb is going to be more National Express East coast than FGW whose only interest is the commuters these days and sod their longer distance pessengers.
That is why you can travel from Penzance - Paddington for £15 then????
Although, yes, they will be Mallard spec.

This isn't that fantastic, you can do Cornwall-York/Newcastle for around the same price I believe, and get an unrefurbed or NXEC HST if you're lucky!
At least you get a view from the car, not just a stupid Flying F in the seat in front and a meagre bit of brown window!

At the end of the day - its an improvement. Providing more seats where they are needed and it is NOT FGWs fault that the railway has evolved in such a way that it has at Reading. Unless the Government decides to do something about it - expect long distance trains to have lots of seats. Services to Cornwall need the extra services in Summer anyhow so at least you get to sit down.
Tell me you can drive from Penzance - London Paddington return in just over 10 hours for £30 whilst using a laptop or whatever???
FGW refurb has more leg room than pre refurb. How many times do I have to say it
LD sets have 4 tables per coach anyway and are booked for long distance journies.
well 4 tables isn't a damn sight better to be honest, considering a refurbed EMT mk3 has about 10 tables, and only about 2 airline seats in 1st class...
Edit: I'd never fly ryanair unless you paid me several thousand £s to do so. Serious safety issues there... (I'm bit of a plane nerd too )
Oh? Explain?
