Thanks to the good sir from Epsom, Peter Mugridge, for fixing the Writer's Block I had yesterday, this thread is for discussing your requirements for haulage. After all this thread will be more suitable than Red Pen 2016!

Without further ado, the long list of my requirements, taken from memo files on my phone. Note I haven't done one for Eurostar sets, of which my NREA says I need 102 in total. All data is as of 25/01/2016,1249:

I look forward to seeing the lists of other regular bashers on this forum!

EDIT: Today's scores have been taken off, with 121020 added and Midland Metro tram 37 also added, as that one is now about.

Noddy1878 reminds me that ny LU requirements are also not present. There are approximately 990 units required there, so to post those too (which I haven't a memo file for to be fair) would be just silly!

Finally, I've added the username of the forum member who gave me the thread title.

Do what I do, do what you've had, not what you need.

I'll be doing another list soon as 3 months has almost passed since my last one (I do them every 3 months).

Here's mine. Luckily was able to copy from my lists quite easily. I have a list of underground stuff too but thats so big I'll leave that for a bit!

Having been an enthusiast since spring 1979, ie about twice as long as half the forum has been alive, it perhaps should not be that much of a surprise?

I hold most of the current haulages in the Ile de France region as well...

Brilliant list there! I think that the bit below is rather strange though.
Birmingham:

17
19
28
34
36
37
Why? My required Brum trams for haulage are 17, 19, 36 and 37. 28 and 34 were the two winner ones that I got last Saturday. It seems we need the same Brummy trams then!

An impressive list indeed Mr Mugridge!

Noddy1878: You've reminded me I need to add 121020 to my lists! Knew something was missing!

I also have to add a Midland Metro tram, as of 37 is now about. It's on test today!

Thanks to the good sir from Epsom, Peter Mugridge, for fixing the Writer's Block I had yesterday, this thread is for discussing your requirements for haulage. After all this thread will be more suitable than Red Pen 2016!

I look forward to seeing the lists of other regular bashers on this forum!

.

This is a great idea, I'll have to sort out my lists

How come the long list of 350s?

They're all the relatively new TPE 350/4s so I suspect Peter's just not had the chance to get up to the WCML North and tackle them just yet.

I know. I'm just surprised that he still has such a long list left, considering that they have been in service for a couple of years now.

I usually do Manchester on day trips on Mondays, not wanting to be back home too late either with work the next day, and tend to concentrate on the trams while I'm there; having said that I have missed out on 3 of those 350/4s across two separate occasions; once because one was turned back short and wasn't going to stop within the ticket zone and the other time a slight delay of 15 minutes getting into Manchester ( speed restrictions in the Trent Valley ) meant I just missed a pair heading north from Piccadilly...

There should be more Manchester missions in the coming months...

The 380s, of course, will require a Sleeper train mission to start making inroads there.

Get a couple on a Glasgow-Edinburgh via Carstairs run. They're normally quiet services during the day and most comfortable considering the plugs and WiFi.

I'm impressed that no one appears to need the surviving class 56's for haulage!

I need 3 of them (087, 096 and 106) - if I get all three, which I suspect is highly unlikely, it will take me to 101 Class 56s. Nowhere near 'top man' status though, I know some people cleared all 135 in the 1990s.

That is very, very impressive :) Clearly there were a lot of loco failures back then.

I'll be making many visits to Gilmour Street myself in the coming years I reckon, lots of leaps to/from Central!

I've only listed locos that are generally on passenger duties to be fair. 56s wise I need all bar 311 and 312. 60s, 66s, 86s etc are not counted on these lists on account of their non-passenger use except for charters.

I'll join in the fun with my diesel unit requirements. Never been a big fan of electric traction so still a long list of electrics to get through.

I only listed the stuff which is likely to fall on to passenger services.

Same here - which also puts the 68s into a grey area as only some are supposed to be spending the majority of their time on passenger stuff ( and I have 6 of the 8 Chiltern examples already... )

Just curious but did you manage to travel behind many class 20's in the 1980's? They were certainly well used on summer Saturday services from the East Midlands across to Skegness.

Jesus h christ, 98, 56's for haulage? Thats very impressive indeed, extremely highly regarded in my book that blackwatch. How the hell did folk get all 135? 98 is staggering, 135 is just Awesome.

Afraid not; I didn't leave school until September 1984, started work May 1985 - so by the time I could do a serious number of longer distance trips... I did get a few on railtours and the S&C pilot locomotives promotion though. I have 8 of the 20s marked as haulages in my 1990 combined volume which i just pulled out at random.

Well I did have a long think about whether to include all the 68s I must admit!

Birmingham area "drags", railtour "fixes", I imagine. I think that some people also cleared all the 58s.

I got less than half of either class, - unlike some people, I was unwilling to do overnight "leaps" to the Birmingham area - apart from cost, it was too much like hard work. However, I did manage 198 Class 40s and 509 Class 47s, plus all the 45s & 46s.
