A fairly fast-paced selection of the action at Peterborough station on Friday afternoon 8th March 2024 - 32 trains spread over 4 hours of real time. Lots of variety, covering classes 60, 66, 91, 158, 170, 180, 221, 755, 800, 801, 802 plus a ballast regulator and a tamper. On the way home, at Ely a DCR cl. 60 was in the station, so that's a bonus at the end of the video.

(According to RTT, during that period there were over 100 trains passing through, terminating or starting at the station, 17 of them freight).

Video from couple of visits to Ireland in 2000 and 2005, mostly of the (long gone) charismatic class 141 diesel locos on branch/secondary line passenger trains. The larger class 071 and 201 locos are also featured. Classic railway operation, including train run-arounds, accompanied by the raucous chant of EMD Roots-blown V8 engines in the 141s - turn up the volume and enjoy!

From my YouTube channel Roundel Railways, a few recent uploads!

From when I recently spent a weekend chasing Class 40 D213 Andania when it paid a visit to the highlands on the 'Whistling Highlander' railtour. Absolutely fantastic experience to see this thing powering up Slochd with no support from the duff on the back!

This next one is my latest upload, a compilation of footage I caught of DRS 37s. It felt right to collect all these shots in one place given DRS's ongoing fire sale of their venerable tractors...

Looking back at the history of the Class 165 and 166 Networker Turbos, now over 30 years old and still going strong.

Following on from Part 1, here is Part 2 of my visits to Ireland in 2000 and 2005, mostly featuring the EMD-built class 201 diesel locos on mainline passenger trains. Class 071 and 141 locos are also featured, plus the (now closed) 'Clonmacnoise and West Offaly Railway' tourist operation. Classic loco-hauled passenger railway operation, including train run-arounds and semaphore signaling. Enjoy!

Video from a visit to the UK Bluebell Railway 'Giants of Steam' event nine years ago in October 2015. It was a very popular event, with an intensive steam service involving five (immaculate) mainline locomotives on the day I visited, two of them visitors to the railway (4464 and 925), all condensed into about 20 minutes of video. Enjoy!

The Class 66 diesel locomotive operated by GBRf at work hauling a variety of freight trains across the network. These include intermodal freights, aggregates trains, departmental trains and weekend engineers traffic. Filmed at the lineside between 20222 and 2024.

A few hours at Ely (Cambridgeshire) railway station in April 2024, covering freight, track inspection and a few of the passenger trains, all condensed into about 10 minutes. Freight hauled by class 60 and 66 diesel locomotives and the inspection train by a pair of (60-plus year old) class 37.

My 2024 Thrash compilation featuring Class 37, 40, 47, 50, 52 Western, 55 Deltic, 56 and 70 diesel locomotives. This compilation comprised of my best clips filmed between 2023 and the beginning of 2024 with diesel locomotives hard at work on the UK mainline.

Just saw this one pop up via BBC Archives. 'Meet the Commuters' from BBC Nationwide in 1976. Forget the past being a foreign country.. watch this, it's like a different planet.

I just watched this. It's like a different planet which leaves me very confused. Didn't people read books in 1976? And surely London ins't the only city where there are commuters ... mostly European cities have them for instance, not forgetting NYC too.
