There Seems to be mixed responses with regards to Dover Priory... Is all the confusion over platform three where the London Victoria services terminate??

Yes. I thought it did, but I've only been there a couple of times recently. I was probably wrong.

Clapham Junction as well I don't think has any bay platforms

Clapham Junction does have a bay platform, for the LO services.

Yeah I think that's where the confusion is. But, all platforms at Dover Priory are through platforms.

I'm also pretty certain that platform 4 at Margate, with trains to/from St Pancras, is a bay platform?

Yep. It has buffer stops at the Faversham end, and the line ends shortly afterwards IIRC.

Yes. I thought it did, but I've only been there a couple of times recently. I was probably wrong.

The platform 3 loop rejoins the main line just before the entrance to the tunnel. I don't think I've ever seen any moves in or out of the platform that way though. I am usually on a Charing Cross train though when I come through Dover!

I believe Queens park is used for late evening overground services to terminate at. I'm not aware of any bay platforms there either

Everything on the Watford DC lines (i.e. the Overground through Queen's Park (London)) runs Euston-Watford as far as I know, not one service operates between any other two stations.

I swear one day looking at NRE live departures late at night one day ages ago, there were a few departures to Queens park, maybe there were works on the line. Ill take your word for it though and take responsibility for my mistake

* Does the Kensington Olympia - Wandsworth Road Southern service still run?
** Do Southeastern/FCC still have those joint services that terminate at Kentish Town?

Stalybridge can be added to the list. It no longer has a bay platform. Services from Liverpool Lime Street to Stalybridge terminate at platform 1 ( a through platform).

From a thread posted a few days a go "Biggest place with no terminating services", someone posted a reply about stations with no terminating platforms but with terminating services. Maybe we can turn that subject into a new thread.

So are there any stations with terminating services but no terminating platform, so the line goes straight through the platform. Ones I can think of are

Ellesmere port
Worcester foregate street
Harrow and Wealdstone

Do you know any stations with terminating services but no terminating platforms? Post down below :D

If you wanted a shorter list, could do 'stations with starting/terminating trains but without the facility for a train to change its direction.

Hitchin is the only example I can think of (there is an 08:38ish hitchin-kings cross, but the ecs goes to either biggleswade or letchworth to reverse). Though Hitchin does have the ability to reverse trains from the north, but not from the south.

Strood, Gravesend, Dartford.

Argh, I hoped to be the first to mention those ....

But I will be the first to add: Barnehurst, Slade Green, Crayford, Sidcup, Plumstead and Grove Park.

Would Ormskirk count, as the platform is a through one but there are buffers in the middle stopping trains from going through, if they were removed trains would be able to go straight through. That's quite a hard one

Scunthorpe, Northerns local stopping services from Sheffield terminate before shunting in to what i believe some sort off cattle dock, also Worksop i believe doesn't have any bays for the robin hood line services.

Yes Worksop doesn't have any bay platform. Strange because Mansfield Woodhouse does, or was the Sheffield-Retford line there before the Robin Hood line?

On a local stopping service near you
Stourbridge Junction, Walsall, Worcester Stations, Coventry, Birmingham International, Longbridge, Kidderminster, Dorridge
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
New street has a terminating platform at the Wolverhampton end of the station, when I have caught Liverpool services from new street most often than not they leave from that bay platform.

This bay platform is 4c
Liverpool services terminate here mainly Monday-Saturday during the day.
Wolverhampton-Birmingham New Street services, that are terminating at New Street usually terminate here, or platform 4c
