Well it's not been as good as the opening ceremony, yet, but there's still time and I don't think it's been bad, personally.

Like all ceremonies it seems to be high on flash but on substance and activity. Really just want to see either Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath or Monty Python

Queen = not bad but there's only one Freddie Mercury :D

edit: Queen cut for this crap, and I bet they don't even sing the line And no religion too

edit2: they did. Minor kudos has been restored :)

The running order is out there. After handover to Rio, Seb Coe speaks and the IOC President and then The Who performs. Followed by a final song (unconfirmed what this is).

As much as I love The Who, I can't watch them without Moon and now Entwistle. It'd be like reading the Bible without Jesus or God being mentioned - as good as Townshend and Daltrey are, they are nothing without Moon and Entwistle beside them.

The closing ceremony is never as good as the opening one.. Never has been IIRC. Not meant to be either as you are ending the games and handing them over to the next city.

And suddenly plummeted with Jessie J . Why not get a man to sing it :?

It wouldnt have been right with a man singing with Queen. Just a better female vocalist would have done.
The cameraman seems fixed on Jessie Js "wedgie" however

As several people on my Facebook have commented:

Boris Johnson, waving a flag, near a flame, what could possibly go wrong....

Is it true Jessie J just sang with Queen?! Oh dear. As much as I dislike Queen (well, May and Taylor as individuals, their bitterness is angering; plus some other aspects), you can't replace Mercury with a tacky pop singer.

Boris near a flame is a recipe for disaster without the flag, based on his track record!

From someone on my Facebook:

'Jessie J has achieved in 5 minutes what the IRA haven't in 30 years - killed Queen'
