Off topic, but why are the latest group deliveries not having regional number plates? Seen some SK63 plate Enviro400s in Manchester.

Thats because the DLVA shut down all the local offices. Thus the manufacturers companies are registering the buses instead.

Stagecoach East Kent have had the engine out of it, Carlisle are having the gearbox and radiator IIRC.

First time I can recall Stagecoach purchasing a vehicle second hand, even if it is for spares only.

I think there is a difference between purchasing council owned vehicles (such as the KLCH Solos), which have been operated by Stagecoach, and going out and buying a secondhand vehicle, the condition of which is somewhat less clear.

A double decker bus has had its roof torn off as it drove under a railway bridge in Hertfordshire.

Station Road in Harpenden was closed after coach firm Uno's number 271 vehicle got stuck between Station Approach and Breadcroft Lane just before 08:30 BST.

The bus was empty, no one was reported injured and recovery was completed by 11:10, Hertfordshire Police said.

A spokesman for Uno said an investigation had begun.

General manager Michael Finn said the bus was not in service at the time of the crash and the driver was "experienced".

"Passenger and public safety is Uno's main priority and a full investigation is taking place to determine how the incident happened," he said.

He added the bus had earlier taken children from the Redbourn area to Roundwood Park school in the town and was on its way back to the depot when the accident happened.

In fact, in 2007, Stagecoach East Scotland purchased five Volvo Olympians from Lothian Buses to lease to Rennies, and these became part of the main fleet when Stagecoach bought Rennies the following year. I'll also recall that in 1994/5 United Counties bought some Fleetlines from Travel West Midlands, and coaches from Wallace Arnold.

24179 I believe.

I wonder if this is for route trials prior to a possible cascade when new orders come in?

Any idea why 27748 managed a trip from Lancaster to Blackpool arriving around 17:30 ish?

Does Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire currently have a shortage of Double Deckers?

Preston based Scania Enviro400 15466 was seen on Saturday morning heading out of Preston in a very scruffy state. Most of its route branding had been removed with areas of body work rubbed down ready for re-paint.

Fleetwood based 36184 has been re-painted at Bus & Coach Blackburn.

Gillmoss based 24178 made an unusual appearance on the 2X/X2 route on Saturday. Working a full round trip to Preston and back due to the failure of the booked bus in Liverpool.

Would imagine they'll stay at Preston and the 04 reg ALX400s will be cascaded down to the schools fleets.

Depends slightly on whether Chorley also get new vehicles though I suppose....

Turns out 36184 has transferred to Chester? Picture appeared on Facebook of it working at Heswall, don't know what depot that puts it at. I would think 36185 is to follow which would leave the 86/89 Fleetwood-Knott End-Lancaster routes worked by Solos again.

The current Scania's used on Route X2/2X will be ungergoing repaint before moving elsewhere, a new fleet is due to replace those with WiFi.
The current X2 Scanias are all being repainted and then will be fitted with refreshed X2 branding and some other minor refurbishments. There are no new double decks due for a Gold conversion. Neither are there any new buses due for Chorley depot.
