Van derived minibuses are common and they don't warrant an explanation of surprise normally! However I've found a lorry derived coach, not even a coach on a lorry chassis, I guess this is basically a big welfare bus? Makes you wonder what advantages this has compared to either a coach with wheelchair lift or longer bus with extra wheelchair spaces!

Take a look...

There are/were a few identical vehicles up here in West Dunbartonshire. They were mainly used on school contracts. Haven't seen one in a while, though. Probably all sold off.

My personal favorite is one owned by Horários do Funchal.

Specifically bus 103, a Scania 114C with custom built Caetano bodywork.

I do like a 4 series, especially having learned in a 94D.

Makes you wonder what exactly the benefit is, could be cheaper?

In Iceland they have massive Scania off road lorry-bus things :D

Presumably they go together there, off-road and steep(?) routes so the power and handling of a lorry makes sense!

This is why we need a 'like' button.

There was something similar to this in the UK, insofar as a passenger lorry trailer. It's a heritage vehicle, I'm sure I've seen it on Flickr.

When I did an evening paper round in Bradford (it was s long ago, the news was still in Latin), I used to see such a vehicle pass me everyday. It was a Sandoz lorry with a passemger trailer so I assume it was provided to get staff to and from the Sandoz factory which was by the railway line at Rodley. I wish I'd taken some photos. I remember there was always a bloke in a long blue trenchcoat getting off at the bus stop by Eccleshill cricket club - whatever the weather, he had that coat on.

Some pictures of the factory and railway can be found here.

Don't see them now in Cuba, nor the former SBG Leopards. Now replaced by some Chinese stuff though I saw some Dutch vehicles in Havana, and something (probably a VDL or something) operating in full Arriva livery near Santa Clara - sadly, it wasn't "Serving Cuba"

There used to be something same idea and looking in Santa Cruz on the dock estate to transport cruise ship passengers from the ship berth to the dock gate.

Think its now been replaced by hired in coaches instead now, it carried more people than a coach in one journey.
