Hi everyone just to let you know I got a letter today confirming my place for The January course. I'm so relieved the wait is over and look forward to mtg people there.

well done mate, which depot? have you had a medical?

Yes pal. Had my medical in july. Gonna be based at Crewe. I truly wish everyone good luck and for all who didn't make it, keep trying. You have a huge advantage over everyone else starting out. All the very bsst of luck to all.

Well done pal, are you from crewe? I chose crewe but I know they've taken a few on already, so I'm thinking I'm going to receive a no letter :( been waiting 12 weeks since dm interview so doesn't look good!

Guess short of hearing direct from HR then posting and reading updates is our only info for now. Biff let me know if you get any calls or letters.

Joey, there was nothing interesting in my post today, just car insurance renewals....:( maybe tomorrow?

Lol! Me neither! Starting to panic seeing people failing and people starting. Wondering what's in store for me.

Nothing for me either pal, where are you in this process?

My DM was over 17 weeks ago. No medical. No letters. No phone call. No clue! If it's a fail at DM then think they should let you know straight away but that doesn't seem like the case in this process.

Yeah seems there are a few of us in the same boat for some reason, all had interviews over 12 weeks ago and nothing since, getting really anxious now, I think it's morally wrong to tell us its a no after such a wait. Will let you know if I receive anything, what depo you say in the interview, I chose crewe and a few have already been taken on!

In June I went to an interview in Crewe, which will about the same time as Joey went, but like Joey I've heard nothing since. I got through the psychometric tests earlier in the year with another company, so I'm hoping that they are acceptable to Freightliner.

Other than that, I have no idea where I am in the process!!

Also passed tests with other company. When asked which depot I said as I would relocate any would do. In hindsight I should have been more specific! They suggested Reading and Dagenham as being closest geographically but like I said I'd be relocating either way.

I went for Peterborough as first choice with Dagenham second.

I've been through it all with freightliner, but still in the same boat as you guys, it's annoying because there is no consistency so we can't even guess what's going on, really relying on this now!

Purely from curiosity, is anyone from the north-east involved in this process? Tyne yard mentioned?

Woke up this morning and felt sick to my stomach immediately remembering that I'd failed my DM interview. Just out of curiosity, have any of you applied for trainee driver before. How did you regroup and improve if you have been unsuccessful in the past

Hi there, in the job advert there was many depot locations named, but none in the north, as it just said 'north east', which I presume includes everywhere from Doncaster to Tyne yard

I've not heard if I've passed DM interview yet, but was pleased to get to that stage after getting nowhere with a couple of passenger TOC's.
I got the impression FL would be continuing to recruit drivers as their business expands and drivers retire so there will still be opportunities at this and other companies.

Thank you for that steve900. I hope your right as this is something I want to keep persuing until I succeed in getting a start. I am very disappointed but like you, I am pleased I got pass the tests and to the interview stage. I never thought I would get that far. Best of luck to you.

During my interview I mentioned potential locations and apparently there isn't a Heavy Haul yard in Tyneside. I live in Teesside and my nearest depot is Grangetown (near Middlesbrough), followed by the Ferrybridge area. I was told that there were three available jobs at Tees yard but not sure if this has changed since.

well done mate. so that's 3 of the 15 jan places confirmed and that is just on this forum.

so if I get through, it is looking likely it would be the march intake.

Well done mate, which intake? And Leighton is a nice area, Willaston, all depends how much you want to spend, price will defiantly reflect what area you live in so the more your willing to spend the nicer area in crewe you'll be in! Nantwich is also miles nicer and is around 6 miles from crewe not far at all but Is more expensive
good luck mate
