I hope so. I'm Meant to start in three weeks. Thanks

Out of interest who have you been in contact with? Are LOROL doing the HR while AGA provide the training facilities? Best of luck with it, hope you hear soon. I know what the wait is like believe me!

Lorol did the recruitment /assessments/interview as they are taking over the chingford line from AGA in May. Initial contract is with AGA so just waiting for their HR to send out contract. Lorol are chasing it up after phone call this afternoon

Yeah I know of the take over, just wasn't totally sure who did what HR wise. I know HR were busy tieing up the course I'm starting on along with a few others so it could be that.

Do you have a contact number for AGA admin as still not heard from them. All I was told from lorol is they will contact me soon
Thanks

Hi mosschops

I spoke to Cara from lorol HR yesterday and she told me that lorol have not yet forwarded my details to AGA. She said this will be done by the end of november......... she assured me i have nothing to worry about and if anything changes i will be informed by lorol.
The reason for the delay is AGA are very busy with sorting out the november starters.

My advice to you would be to contact lorol and get clarification from them with regards to your application.

Hi matt

Thanks for your response....... sounds like we are both in exactly the same position, i too have a verbal offer from clara over the phone after my succesful medical back on 10/10/14

Spadtrap, the contract will be with AGA, and even after the transfer in May 2015 we will stay on AGA terms & conditions.

Congrats on the medical! I've not long gone through that myself so know how painful the wait is, especially after a years wait before!

Thanks for the info. See you at the school! Will you be signing both 315s and 317s do you know?

I am not a driver but I do know one thing - You will not be able to 'Get ahead' in the classroom and you dont need books or videos from external sources for this.

EVERYTHING you need to learn will be taught to you by your teachers at the speed the class goes.

No. But as already mentioned there doesn't need to be. All the information you will need (and far more you won't) will be given to you when the time comes. I really wouldn't start trying to learn traction training from youtube... ;)

Just read the following on the LOROL site... Yet more evidence of the apparent possible advantage females have:

Whilst LOROL has made good progress in appointing women into driver roles, the proportion of male drivers greatly outweighs women drivers. Amy's story demonstrates that it's possible for women to become train drivers too at LOROL!

almost every company shows a female in the driving seat on their sites

A conductors manager story is also on there pretty sure they have none to manage now though

I had my confirmation letter and that states i should have my contract in few weeks, my address was slightly wrong but luckily recieved the letter. I called to make sure they have my correct address, they said they changed it. Im now concerned that they may have the address still slightly wrong for some reason hence me not yet recieving my contract.

Sounds like something has gone wrong somewhere, you should have recieved it by now, as i said i got mine two weeks ago and if i remember correctly we got our offer letters on the same day, give them another call mate just to be sure.
But let me reassure you that there is nothing to worry about as there isnt anything in the contract pack that needs to be sent back urgently.

My letter arrived around 20th november, stated id recieve my contract in few weeks. Will have to call again tommorow. Do you know anything or was anything in the contract saying about free or discounted train travel from our start date?? Its not too important to me but i will be travelling to stratford daily by train and didnt want to pay out ticket fees if we got free or discounted travel straight away?

One of the forms in the pack is an application for rail travel discount for you and your spouse/dependents, I didnt notice if it states exactly how much the discount is.
