Congratulations mate bet your made up ??????..did you already have your medical done and passed or have you still got to take your medical, the reason am asking is am on the waiting list also but for a different TOC but I still haven't had a medical just not sure what the set up is, and if am offered a position what time scale do I have to tell my current employers that am leaving.
Thanks

Hi Mate, I have already had my medical and passed. As far as I am aware you wouldn't be formally offered a position until you have had the medical, they might say we are looking to place you on a course pending the results however - although I am just speculating.

Bucko, I had the contract through via email but I knew it was on the way when I spoke to the recruitment team about my medical last week.

I have no idea why that response is so big hahaha

Hi guys, had my offer of employment through for Hitchin today, course starts 15th August, wish all of you waiting good luck.

The reason why you knew in the phone call to the recruitment team about your medical was that it was then OK to tell you. For other people please don't badger the recruitment team, they won't tell you unless the info has been released. Read that as they will NEVER tell you unless they already know the info has already been released.

It was pure luck that Rhysa85 was told over the phone.

Congrats Rhysa85, see you in August! (Yes, I am a treat! :))

Haha that's class, looking forward to it - though I'll probably just call you John and not "Treat Guy"!

And you are right, I definitely wouldn't have been told over the phone were she not sorting my contract the following week.

The reason progress isn't happening at the moment is likely to be because we've told on Tuesday there is to be an announcement in regards to restructuring of the depots.
Can't say anymore until that but hopefully we and HR will have some clue of what's happening.

.

Based on previous experience in other industries, whenever I see the word "restructuring", the word "redundancies" is usually never far behind.

I would be surprised at that with their targets and plans but who knows, it could be negative.

Certainly seems so but nothing certain until tuesday.
Not so much redundancy but a lot of new drivers being moved to other depots depending on length of service.

Sounds interesting. Are there too many new drivers at certain depots? Hopefully nobody in the pool are affected.

Well it seems that Bedford is being downsized by a huge amount and new drivers under a certain length of service are being moved to other depots like Cricklewood and there's rumours of new depots at St Albans and welwyn.
If you're waiting on bedford don't get your hopes up.
Could be other depots affected aswell so won't know until tomorrow.
It may come to nothing but a lot of nervous new starters at the moment.

Not opinion but not hard fact yet. Until tomorrow we won't know. Like I say it could all be rumours but it seems fairly reliable from what I've heard so far.
