Sounds like the base livery of the refurbished 158752.

I severely doubt 150 and 156 fleets will be retrofitted with air con. One stumbling point would be the power required to operate such air con units as they are power hungry new alternators would likely to be needed. I'd hate to be on an underpowered unit on a red hot summer, it would be very very slow at moving.

Seems to have gone very quiet.
Six months in - have northern actually fully completed any of there comittement to restore trains to as new condition?
So far it looks like a purely cosmetic without aby mechanical content.

Thank you very much to Greeves for updating us. :)

I'm having a ride on the 1810 Manchester V to Leeds today. It's clean and bright, nice carpet, nice seat cushions and immeasurably better toilets for cleanliness and smell. Shame there hasn't been a replacement had dryer. For the benefit of Yorksrob I can confirm there are still three toilets. Making them vacuum-flush is definitely an improvement. It definitely needs the WiFi and sockets as the ScotRail ones are getting count as transformational. Outside of priority seat legroom continues to be an issue. On the whole it's a good travelling experience, much better than what it's replacing which was one of the tattiest.

It is now a month since the above was originally posted, any updates on how the trains in the works are going or why it is taking so long to do the refurbs.

I tweeted this morning, by coincidence, Northern about the status of 333009 and they said its getting some TLC at Neville Hill - what that is, they don't know, but thats what the say. Perhaps one of the chappies with access to TOPS could help

Must admit I am underwhelmed by the speed of this refurbishment program .... 150275 and 155346 have both been away for over 6 months. Appreciate they are 1st of class, but these are 2 car units for heavens sake.

Wonder if corrosion issues have been found. When one of the Northern 150s was sent for C6 exams under old Northern it spent months away due to the amount of anti-corrosion work which it required.

The GWR 150/2s have been away for very long periods too because of corrosion issues. Wasn't it around a year for the first unit?

150220 has had the DDA modifications with a large disabled toilet, scrolling LED PIS, new door buttons and loud hustle alarm.

I travelled on 150222 this morning and it has had the same DDA modifications as 150220. Not sure if these two were done together as a trial or if they're quietly working through getting some sprinter units 2020 compliant separate from the interior refurbishment work.

According to the 2017 Platform 5 DMUs book, 150204/206/220 have all had those mods. 222 having them must be new.

Has 150222 had a repaint and lost the Welcome to Yorkshire Vinyls? 150220 had a repaint when it had the modifications done but was the same non-vinyled Northern Livery as before.

Not an update as such, but work is definitely going on with 333009. I passed NL yesterday around lunchtime and 3 cars were out of sight with just one driving vehicle left in the siding where it's been for the past few months.

When I went back the other way, around 6pm, the other three cars were back.

At least 319005/218/219/431/456 have had PRM modifications done before transfer to Northern.

Also, 158906 only had WiFi, PIS and USB charging points in one car when I was last on it. It was a trial done under the old Northern franchise.

After searching Flickr I see 150222 now has a new more compact version of WTY vinyls keeping its yellow block and with more purple and blue showing along its lower section.

Would like too try and make some corrections on the 156 list. 156448 has not recieved any DDA Moderfications. 156480 has not recieved any moderfications despite being photographed in Scotland so assume it got cancelled halfway or something? 156483 is the latest unit to have recieved moderfications and 156487 will be the next one to follow as its currently undergoing its moderfications.

Edit: Just too add 156475 has not recieved DDA moderfications either.

Saw shiney repainted 150 222 at sowerby bridge 10 min late heading for Leeds with an horrendously wheel flat.
