So where are we progress wise with the delivery? Do we have a list showing which was the last 8 & 12 cars to be delivered?

Thanks,
Ross

I caught the 1720 from Blackfriars to Redhill yesterday - 8 car 377s and full. The preceding 1638 is rostered as a 12 car 700 and is usually lightly loaded. Hmm.

3Txx are test trains for new unit mileage accumulation.

They are also used as driver training trains when required, but this is with new units undergoing mileage runs too.

Loads of unbranded 319s about today are all being debranded or a sign more 700s entering service imminently

Thanks. I'm down in London at the weekend, so that's another one to look out for a scratch in for haulage!

And now 700025 in service (apparently since late last week) - working 2247 Sutton to Bedford this evening.

I make that 22 700/0s which have seen service along with the 15 700/1s.

I noticed yesterday RLU's are getting on one or two Brightons now too.

Reports elsewhere suggest that 700027 is the 23rd 700/0 in service. Worked on a Sevenoaks turn during the day yesterday with an early finish at Bedford. Not found out what it is doing today.

It takes all sorts of people to make a group. Some are more valued than others. Some are better communicators than others. From what (little ?) I saw 377/5 was not down right aggressive just perhaps a little clumsy. I do think it was getting a bit tit for tat so I expect it all started as a very minor thing.

Meanwhile back on topic I have not been out to see much lately in/around Croydon. But a friend reports eagerly awaiting 700s in his neck of the woods - Swanley. I told him he will never see a 700/1 as only 8-car ones are expected to work to Sevenoaks - or am I wrong ?. What about Medway though ?. I have rather lost track of where they will work .

The Kent services will be formed as follows:

Sevenoaks/Orpington via Catford to Blackfriars and beyond- 8 car 700/0
Maidstone East Bay to Cambridge - 8 car 700/0
Rainham to Luton - mix of 8 and 12 car units.

Ah thank you very much. I had completely forgotten about the Maidstone East services. So for Medway read Rainham - and that then does ring a bell now.

PTSO or platform depending on the weather
Starting to get to a point where anyhing other than a 700 is a rarity!

Yes, I was watching 319s entering service quite closely back in 1987/8 (with a point and shoot camera) when I could afford to travel to London on my (then) meagre wages - and during each livery change; seems strange now I am watching them again closely as they come off lease.

Once again, I have had to delete some off topic posts despite my last message here. My patience is beginning to wear a bit thin. Do not discuss other site members, or former members, in this thread.

I hope the peaks along the Greenwich line will be 12 car. They are currently normally 10 car so 8 in the peak will be a step back.

Must have been driver training the paths I saw, one of the units was 700115 - which was on Brighton to Bedford services the day before ahaha

I remember it well. The big difference for me being that the 319s were delivered along the same route which they were to work. When a new unit was delivered you saw it being delivered, usually behind a 45.

I saw 027 Tuesday! It came the other way just before I watched the pan of 107 come down at Farringdon. I have to say it don't half come down sharply! So much so that it creates a visible bounce when it thuds on its end stop. Wondering why they designed it to be so aggressive? I can only guess at the idea being less arcing? Must cause more mechanical stress though?

Do you mind I am from Surrey
It looks like that there will be retrofitting seat back tables and Wi-Fi at a later date but not plug sockets but they will be considering putting charging points in at a later date (USB)?
