Dont think it went too bad, but the fault finding question was worded differently to what i expected so i had to think of an example there and then .

Did they ask specific example of when you had situation of fault finding?

The advert didn't specify to apply with a cover letter, just compete the appropriate application form. My thinking was that as a driver you're supposed to follow instructions. Maybe I should have been thinking with my customer services hat on, and given more than they expected !

Also there's nothing in my CV that wasn't also provided in the application.

If failure to attach satisfactory documents was a criteria for rejection, then why not notify me at that point rather than send me a SJT to do.

I get what your saying but if they have given an option to do something then do it.ur fighting against 5000+ applicants. I did a cv cover letter plus skills/knowledge/experience attachment. Yes it was probably overkill but i got invite to ac1.......which i think i messed up anyways!

They asked me this. Wanted en example of anything to do with following a process to find an answer. I gave an example of fixing a cardboard bailer and fixing formulae in Excel.

Just received the dreaded not successful email, thought I did quite well but as feedback is not given, maybe not, I'll never know for sure, I'll take it on the chin and use this experience going forward in future applications. Good luck to all those still in the process hope it all goes well for you.

In my AC1 here was an internal candidate (CSA) who did the test. They keep internals separate but he got to do it that day for some reason. I'm saying this to say they are recruiting both inside and out so yeah competition must be veryy high I guess. still hoping all you people waiting on outcomes are successful tho

Sounds like 6 years of relevant experience.
With the amount of applicants, they can do whatever they feel like I guess..I'm internal, an ex tube driver with experience of driving on the Northern and Jubilee before they went ATO. I left the company and returned after some years. CSA now but was still failed at AC2.

Unlucky mate. I think there is quite a number of people on this thread, myself included, who have not been invited to an Assessment yet so we could be next to receive the dreaded email:(

Out of curiosity, did you upload a CV?

Sorry to hear that. That's also pretty brutal in terms of the difficulty in getting one of these roles if you as a former operator has missed out. I'm starting to think it's a small mercy that I've heard nothing at all. As whilst I'd be confident of getting through AC1 I think I'd have difficulty with the interview stage, in terms of having enough decent examples for the questions considering I've only done office work. At least maybe I've beef spared having to take 2 days off work etc..

Crazy to think a previous tube driver and now current CSA doesn't fit the bill.

Any Ac2 results in from last week?

I'm in shock, finally a positive result from ac2 on this forum, I got a call from a private number, didn't manage to answer, minutes later got a email saying that I passed ac2 and got the job pending medical and references
Thanks to everyone on this forum new and old , your posts were very helpful

Afternoon all,

I have being reading the treads for a while, since I like many I have been anticipating a date for assessment following my SJT on 29 March.

It seems that quite a few people around this date still haven’t heard back so I have phoned TFL to try to find out what’s happening.

The person on the phone explained that those who scored highest on the test where called for assessment, those who didn’t fail and meet the benchmark were put on hold. (Us basically).
Now dependent on how the initial recruitment drive goes, will depend on if those on hold will get called for assessment.

She said they are awaiting details from the hiring manager on benchmark level but will be in touch with all outstanding applicants by the end of next week.

I hope this helps.

I so hope we are in the benchmark level and get a chance. Just a chance to go up and do AC1. Going out with SJT and not been given a go after waiting so long will be a really frustrating moment. Thank you for calling and sharing with us all.

I did upload C.V and also added a covering letter. Hold tight mate if they don't meet there quota you may get a chance at AC1, fingers crossed.

Thanks, I also called today and was told we will all hear back by the end of this week... I've kinda crossed this one off but who knows... if anyone is determined like myself, go through the csa route

Not a bad idea to go through the CSA route but if you are willing to go that route, I'd say go to other TOCs. Reason is, probably you already know, but LU T/Ops are kind of stuck as they are only recognised by LU , and to think of going to another TOC will mean joining as a trainee, and a massive pay cut. Just my thought.
