34311 has been on the Falmouth P&R for about a fortnight or more now. I forgot to comment here when I was down there several days over the last fortnight.

Thanks, it must have gone to Falmouth after its duties at Boardmasters then.

i had seen it in Falmouth the week before boardmasters and also the day after boardmasters ended. Wouldn't know what it did between. Made an assumption as I'd seen it there on 4 seperate days!

Richw, very interesting news - thanks for posting it. Interestingly the Dart you mention was the one I saw around a month ago and posted on the other Cornish operators thread!

Only one query though, I reported in early March that registration T12 TRU was transferred to a staff members vehicle so it will be interesting to see how that "plays out".

T12TRU is on a 2009 Seat Ibiza. Noticeably the MOT expired in April. I lost my own private plate because it was on a car that failed the MOT spectacularly, and the DVLA told me I couldn't transfer a plate unless it was MOT'd and taxed/sorn before previous tax expired. I'd sorn mine and it was sat on the drive for a few months whilst I decided what to do,

They best get the transfer done before 1/9 when the tax expires.

If the donor vehicle’s tax and / or MOT has expired you can still sell your registration number provided all the following conditions apply at the time of the transfer application:-

The tax expired within six months of the transfer application
The MOT was valid at the time the tax expired
You were the registered keeper of the vehicle at the time the tax expired
The tax expired naturally, i.e., you didn’t apply for a refund
Note: If the MOT has expired, you can still sell your registration mark provided the road tax is valid at the time of the transfer application and that you were the registered keeper of the vehicle at the time the MOT expired.

Note: In all cases you will need to provide us with the MOT certificate, valid or expired.

Is it a dupe for the newlyn fish festival?

Bit early for that, it's on tomorrow! Today was 'Pirates on the Prom' when PZ attempted to regain the record for no. of 'pirates' gathered in one place, but I gather it failed, despite (or, maybe, because of) the hot and sunny weather. Got to say, as a resident in the heart of Pz but close to the Prom, it seemed a lot more low-key than the last attempt i.e. much less drunkenness/ general raucousness, but I hope I've not spoken too soon.

Saw a Tinner livered Enviro400 MMC leave Penryn Campus earlier on the 15:50 U1 service from Falmouth to Truro, didn't see the number as I was on another U1 service coming the other way. Surprised to see a Tinner bus on the U1 serive, espicially on a Sunday with many surplus University buses about during the summer.

Be fun trying to turn round on the outskirts of Mousehole in any bus let alone a decker on a August bank holiday weekend!

The driver was on the phone at Penzance probably to Camborne control probably saying something along the lines of "please don't tell me I've got to take that thing down there again".

.

I'm not too keen on doing it in my Clio, and I'm an experienced, non-nervous driver!

At least one Tinner bus worked the non-stop PZ Bus Station to Newlyn (for the Fish Festival) service today.

Coaches in excess of 12m do that turn, but yes, reversing uphill on a tight corner there isn't the easiest.

Wills Bros are the principal contractors for the St Erth "multi-modal hub" as they call it (I prefer "transport interchange"). Today they are holding a public exhibition in St Erth with plans on display and representatives on hand to answer questions.

This hub will in Summer 2018 replace the site at Lelant as the Park & Ride location for travel to St Ives and elsewhere.

Anyway one bit of interest for this forum is the location of the bus stops at and around St Erth station. The temporary stops on the A30 will move as work progresses. When the project is complete in early summer 2018 the bus stops outside the station on the A30 will be permanently closed and all bus services will route via the station where two bus stop bays are being provided.

I wonder what effect that this will have on the timetables given that all services will divert off the A30 into the station and back out on to the A30.

The junction by the railway station will be controlled by traffic lights.

It is reported on the FHD forum that former Lothian Dart's 43905 & 43906 are now based at Taunton.

Many thanks for the welcome update.

Looking on Traveline, the U4 replaces the 2, running hourly between Tremough Campus and Penzance (the section between Falmouth and Tremough Campus looks to be withdrawn).

Both the usual blue and the more unusual red buses on the 2 during today's p.m. peak. I hadn't seen a Tinner on the 2 before, although I think someone may have reported one previously.
