I got an email today from arriva saying I’ve failed ( the VSE as I already knew) little confused as it says I can’t apply to another TOC for 6 months but I’m sure I remember the guy at OPC saying it wouldn’t matter as I’d passed all the other tests as long as the TOC didn’t require the VSE.

All done!

Was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. The interviewers were both really nice and it felt like I got to answer everything they asked (let’s just hope that it’s enough!).

As the Senior Driver Manager walked me out, he said it was a good interview, so I’m taking that as a positive! I’ll keep my fingers crossed and my phone on loud for the next few days!

Cheers!

It felt like a positive, so I’m holding on to that - but I’m also fully aware of the fact that I shouldn’t take anything for granted and that these positions are obviously very highly sought after, so the competition for them is likely to be quite fierce!

I’ve had my phone on loud all day (which is a pain, because I keep answering calls to pesky PPI claims companies and all sorts, whereas I usually ignore all calls from numbers that I don’t recognise, lol!) and keep refreshing my emails to check if anything has come through yet....

I found it needs a lot more concentration. Make sure you listen to exactly what the examiner tells you get plenty of rest the night before go in with a positive attitude and your halfway there

Just took the phone call; I got through the DMI!

Only references/vetting and medical to go. Looking like week of March 12th for medical, but that’ll be confirmed shortly!

Time to let my boss know to expect some reference requests soon!

Hi all

I just received an email last week stating I've made it through to the assessment centre on March 14th. I'm excited and nervous but was wondering if any of you guys have any tips?

I applied for the position last year and was surprised to have got an email.

Make sure you study hard do your reasearch at what test you may get and download any printable material I downloaded some stuff myself and made me a revision pack to be completed every day for 2 weeks leading up to the assesment I found this helped massively make sure you allow time in your day to practice if you don't practice you will struggle. Believe me I know I went for first great western 8 years ago and got to the test centre in Newport all Danny big balls thinking I'm gonna pass I lasted ten minutes I failed the first test I learned from that and I'm at job offer and medical stage now.

Another tip is to go to the OPC website. They are the people hosting the assessments and most (if not all) of the tests can be found on their website with a brief rundown of what to expect and even some practice runs for some tests!

For those that have been through mmi I was hoping for some info/advice. I have as mentioned stage 2 next week and I have looked through the forum looking for what kind of questions I could get asked during mmi if I am fortunate enough to get that far. I did find some questions but they dated back about 5 years ago and I'm not sure if questions may have changed since then. If anyone has been through this and doesn't mind sharing what gets asked it would be greatly appreciated.
