I would prefer it to be owned by someone who actually runs buses. These reliability problems may have existed but weren't causing such disruption when the council ran the show.
Transdev are very keen on the flashy stuff - Cityzap, Coastliner, the 36 in Harrogate, but the bread and butter of any bus operator is the sort of stuff Rosso run. People want a service they can depend on, Rosso weren't the highest quality operator in the land, but they showed up at least. If the buses needed maintenance to reach Transdev standards, not road legal standards, why not wait until the new buses arrive to create slack in the fleet? People would have seen Rosso continue as normal until Transdev bring in new and improved buses later in the year. As it is the service has gone to the dogs, Transdev appear much worse than the council run operation, and will struggle to recapture any of the lost patronage.
