In reply to the detonator disposal problem. There are a number of ways to dispose of them, some enviro friendly some, well boys with toys springs to mind.
1/ Like someone posted, shoot them with air riffles. Stand well away (rule book module G2, "at least 30 yards" metres are for the French.
2/ One particular infrastructure maintenance company out the out of date dets on their track (private, about 30 yards of track at Sutton Courtney, that narrows it down) and ran their tamper over it, The Eddie King if I remember rightly. It was cheaper to run over the dets than to dispose of them properly, about twice the price of purchasing them.
3/ Or the boring correct way to dispose of them, return them to NRS or should I say Unipart Rail (other railway supply companies, do not exist) for them to dispose of the detonators, or should I say Railway fog signals.
personaly, throw them at either chavs or the gipos that steal the signalling and power cables on the railway.
