Me - the Wigan - Manchester line that goes via Atherton - 3.5 miles away at it's nearest point. May have changes at Salford Crescent onto the line to take me into Victoria - but never used the majority of the line.
Only made me think of this when earlier today crossed the Preston/Ormskirk route and thought I's never done that either; I'll do that one day.
You??

I've been into Helensburgh Central twice but never used the line out of the station. Does that count in the terms of your question?

Uckfield Line - despite it being only 5 miles to the nearest point at Cowden.

If we're going by service trains and ignoring depots then the closest bit of track to me is the Harwich Branch, Over 56 miles from me at the nearest point. I need to do the majority of the GEML south branches but no rovers that cover those areas annoyingly.

For me the Ascot to Alton line is only 2.0 miles away at its nearest point but I've not travelled on any of it, despite living here for over 30 years. I've been thinking of using it to go for a ride on the Mid Hants, instead of driving to Alresford. However, it will have to wait until they've reconnected the line between Alton and Medstead.

I'm a tad further away than you are Howard but the Atherton line is as far as I can recall the only local line that I haven't yet managed to traverse also. There is of course a much more local one to me, that being the ex Midland route out of Manchester Central which is still extant from the former Cheadle Heath station site to Hazel Grove and onwards but as this is now freight only between the latter points I doubt this counts?

Oh yes, it has to be passenger, not freight, disused or heritage!

Living in Bradford, I’ve done all the Yorkshire lines on the Northern map; just a couple of curves around Ferrybridge and Knottingley to fill in. And some diversions like the the Northallerton diveunder and the avoiding line near Swinton.

So my nearest line I’ve not done is the Colne line or the Glossop line.

In my old home county of Lincolnshire, I’ve yet to do Market Rasen-Barnetby. The last time I used Market Rasen it was on an HST, which somewhat dates it!

The home of the concrete cow
Marston Vale, with Bletchley station being just under three miles away.
When I lived in Northfleet, the nearest was probably the Bromley North branch, eighteen miles away.

I'm trying to clear all lines for route coverage so from Wigan, it would be strictly the Lichfield - Alrewas Junction at 77.8 miles or south of Kettering at 140 miles.

Shipley to Ilkley. The nearest point on the line must be no more than 3 miles from my home. However I do have a plan to take the train to Ilkley and walk back over the moors.

Never been further on the North Wales Coast Line than Chester despite it being down the road. Would quite like to go all the way to Holyhead one day and catch the ferry to Ireland.

I never got around to (and now regret) travelling on the Heathfield branch.
Nor the stump into Marsh Barton scrapyard either.
I think the nearest passenger line that I haven’t been on would be the preserved Lynton & Barnstaple section or the Severn Beach line.
(Although as the crow flies it might be somewhere in Wales)

Living in Crewe, I think the nearest NR track I haven't been on is the Todmorden curve. Closest non NR is probably the Media City stub of Metrolink. As for heritage rail, possible Carrog - Corwen on the Llangollen line (unless you count Rudyard Lake Railway), and though I have been on the train from Matlock to Rowsley, that was before the line closed in 1968 !

Excluding preservation bits, I think the nearest bits of track to me that I need are the Ebbw Vale branch, Stourbridge Junction to Droitwich Spa, everything west of Shrewsbury* and the Soham line.

*That should change this summer...

Ormskirk-Preston, & Wigan-Manchester via Atherton, Ellesmere Port-Helsby would have been in there but done that on the Cheshire Day Ranger on the forum meet a few years ago
