Not been on the forum very long, but is it usual for people to be so nit-picky on here.
5 travelled to Canton together. 3 in service from Monday, 1 spare and I guess the other one needs work on it before it's used.

Some people can be, but by no means all. The anonymous mixture of staff and passengers can lead to a bit of distrust about the "source" of information. And of course some railfans naturally tend towards an obsessive attention to detail.
Regardless, thank you for the information, and also your clarification, for those that may have misunderstood.

One spare and three going into service is four. I know full well where their Twitter account is and how to access it. None of the posts mentioned but not linked to can be found by looking at the feed of said account, so I wasn't just asking for links to them to be funny! Therefore, can I have links please...?

Ex GWR 153329 and 153361 have come out to play this afternoon, 329 paired with ex ATW 327 on Maesteg to Cheltenham route and 361 attached to white 158841 on 1634 Cardiff to EbbwVale. Just as well as TFW desperately short today necessitating a bus to Cheltenham and other short formed due to "more than usual under repairs".

Saw the FGW liveried one working out of Cardiff just now. It has FGW livery but TfW full branding, including the ‘T’.

Probably already been said but one of the class 153s going around is in first group blue with white transport for Wales logos on it. 153321 I think but that could be wrong.

Is there any truth to the rumour that all 175s are being taken out of service for an urgent safety check by Alstom? Saw it on a FB group.
I was on one this morning. Unless something has happened this afternoon.

Well, is no mass list of cancellation or trains stopped short this evening. TFW confirm checks on some units so possibly be done when at Depots overnight.

This afternoon the 1531 Manchester to Carmarthen was worked by a 2-car 150, full and standing leaving Stockport. Is that the new normal these days?

The problem occurred last night at 1am. There was talk of them all being taken out of service but it didnt happen. Only 2 had the problem. That’s why 2 158’s were sent from Shrewsbury to Chester at 2am last night.

There were 2 two-car and 1 three car 175s connected together at platform 1 at Newport at around 6pm. I've never seen 3 of them connected before is that something to do with the issues with them?

Yes looks like it - see my post above (no. 1229). Apparently they have been sent to Chester for checks.
