This morning I’ve seen 2 153s run I h the Ebbw Vale service from Bridgend (one of them the new FGW liveried one) and the new TFW liveried 153 doing Cardiff Bay shuttle.
According to Genius the new CTR-LIV services don't exist, so it's not exactly 100% accurate.

thanks for the info. Before the ex gwr 153s arrived there were 8 153s in 7 diagrams I think which included cardiff bay, city line etc. Where are these 'extra' 153s now that the ex gwr ones have displaced them?So it doesn't. Good to know.
There are effectively 4 diagrams that the units may be allocated to. You've mentioned two of them - the others are a City Line diagram and one that covers a Swanline in the morning on it's own and an Ebbw Vale in the afternoon (coupled to another unit). That's not to say that those diagrams will only see the ex GWR 153s, but for now those are the only diagrams those units are meant to be allocated to.
How on earth is the entire 150 fleet meant to be PRM ready for 1st January when they are stuck covering for 175s on long distance services?Currently on the 1208 Manchester Piccadilly from Carmarthen to Cardiff Central and it's worked by 150-262 - I rarely ride 150s... I'm sitting in an "airline" bay on an aisle seat and my right leg goes over into the window seat space and my left leg sticks out into the aisle/gangway - I know I'm 6' 3" but I didn't realise how bad the legroom was on these! A passenger I was chatting with also commented on the poor legroom and he's shorter than me, though not as short as the person in front of him who literally fits entirely within the spec it seems

I've just seen a third "Transport for First Wales Great Western" liveried 153 (369) on the City Line, so possibly 11 out of 13 153s in passenger service now...?I'm not sure exactly as I don't know thy diagrams in South Wales well enough to work out what's changed. It does appear that they now have 10 153s diagrammed every day however, albeit one of those diagrams has a 143 on it today (Pembroke Dock).
Worrying isn't it...How on earth is the entire 150 fleet meant to be PRM ready for 1st January when they are stuck covering for 175s on long distance services?
it is still a 2 car. just seen it at Central.Interesting. Genius is still showing it as a 2 car, I've not actually seen it physically since last week.
There also one 153 on the 13:45 2L59 Cheltenham Spa - Maesteg service which normally booked 150 diagram.I'm not sure exactly as I don't know thy diagrams in South Wales well enough to work out what's changed. Seen 175107 Friday morning and it was a 3 car going through Oxford Road Manchester.
So when I saw it today it was a 2 car, and when you saw it today it was a 2 car - well doneSaw 107 today - still a 2 car.

Does the City Line still have 3 diagrams? Is it still 1 x 153 and 2 x pacers? I know this diagram changes a lot as for a while we had 2 x 153 and a pacer. Someone on twitter was complaining today that a single 153 was working on the city line and they just did the usual reply that by 2022/2023 there will be new trains.

Yes, they really are awful. It's not worthy of being called legroom. I happened to take a 170 today and I was worried about legroom having seen some of the reviews on here. Clearly passengers south of Birmingham are spoiled - it was a fantastic diesel unit by Northern (and TFW) standards, and the legroom was absolutely fine. Certain 150s (and some 156s too if I recall correctly) are the absolute worst for this.
Hopefully the mark 4 rakes will allow the 150s to go off for mods. I wouldn't expect the seating layout to change though.
just not acceptable! (only messing of course)Yes sorry about that, didn't realise until after I'd posted
I saw that, young lad standing in one of the vestibules and the saloon looked pretty packed as well. And very odd to say by 2022/2023 when there are 170s and 230s coming in during 2019, and the 769s seem to be picking up as well with 002 now inside Canton depot and 008 where 002 was, in the sidings (anyone know what the situation is with the fixes for the issues with the bogies and exhaust pipes...?)Someone on twitter was complaining today that a single 153 was working on the city line and they just did the usual reply that by 2022/2023 there will be new trains.
Really looking forward to the Wales & Borders franchise getting 170s for the first time later this year, I do like 170s for their quirks / character (the 158 in my avatar is more a nostalgic thing)Yes, they really are awful. Oh right yeah, I thought the 2022-2023 thing was just the standard response. I remember one reply saying "I can't wait 4 years!"I think they mean 2022 or 2023 (I forget which it was they said!) is when new trains will be on the City Line. They said it will be operated by a mixture of 150s and 153s once the pacers are gone, until we get the new trains.
The Mark 4 rakes have nothing to do with 150 PRM Mods
have you seen the 3 "Transport for First Wales Great Western" liveried 153s...? And the 170s are due to transfer in October - by then there should be enough 755s in service to displace them...?They will need to have the thick strip of grey that runs along the bottom of the train removed I assume? However, as the livery is pretty similar maybe Transport for Wales will just want them in service as quick as possible.
The sooner they are released from Greater Anglia the better and then Transport for Wales will be relieved of a bit of stress at least
*sigh* Being a new member in this forum is hard work.
