Carriages are too long, apparently, Scott. Whether completely or just north of Millom I haven't heard.
Good question seeing that the TPE units from CAF are delivered by rail. Why do trains not use the railway for delivery? It seems crazy seeing them being delivered by road.
Thanks RooseCarriages are too long, apparently, Scott.

Before the advent of the first-generation DMU, what types of passenger coaching stock were in use on the Cumbrian Coast line?
From October to December at least, the interworked Leeds - Chester- Leeds - Man Vic - Leeds services remain. Some diagrams remain 156 or 158 until Dec at least. Diagrams released for w/c Oct 20th include 195’s on York - Blackpool so some short term planning diagrams for 158’s will no doubt be in operation.Apologies if this has already been posted. ARN's current plans for 195 introduction east of the Pennines are:
I don't know what the plans are in respect of which units (195/0, 195/1) will be used on which routes or if there will be any double 195/0s in use. I think that Leeds - Chester requires 6 units (although these currently interwork with Leeds - Manchester Victoria services and if this remains the case 9 units are needed). The York - Blackpool services will no londer interwork with Leeds - York stoppers from December 2019 and therefore need 5 units (7 units required while interworking remains) and the Leeds - Lincoln - Leeds - Nottingham - Leeds circuit requires 10 units.
- 21/10 - 10 195s on Leeds - Chester services
- 11/11 - 8 195s on York - Blackpool services
- 15/12 - 10 195s on Leeds - Lincoln and Leeds - Nottingham services
The above means between 21 and 26 units at least (mostly 158s, and assuming all current diagrams are worked by single units, which is not the case on all Calder Valley services) will be released by mid-December 2019.

I don't know about door not in use text, but on Aventras, the door closing lights (both the logo and the red illumination on the buttons) will light if someone presses the door open button while the door is locked, so it's common to see units go past with red lights on the exterior door buttons due to someone leaning on the button inside. Not sure if the CAF units are the same in this regard.Apologies if this has already been covered, but what is the purpose of the red “DOOR NOT IN USE” lights? On other trains, this has indicated that the door has been physically locked out of use. However, travelling from Liverpool to Manchester on a 195 this afternoon, they would light up on all doors quite randomly between stations, for about a minute each time.
Indeed, I just got off a Liverpool to Blackpool North service at Edge Hill, and all the doors had this light on, even when “unlocked” at Edge Hill! Queue racing down the train to the guard’s locally unlocked door, which I’m sure entertained the almost-full train
It’s to do with ASDO. There is what’s been named the ‘bubble’ around each station where the door not in use signs light up on the non platform side. This does seem to instigate this randomly too for some reason.Apologies if this has already been covered, but what is the purpose of the red “DOOR NOT IN USE” lights? I was just coming to ask when they will enter service on those lines, thanks very much
- 11/11 - 8 195s on York - Blackpool services
The addition of all of these units by December will mean that about 40 of the 55 new units will be in service. Any news about which lines will get the balance?Apologies if this has already been posted. ARN's current plans for 195 introduction east of the Pennines are:

Looks like testing runs are happening between Doncaster and Hull. Are they heading that way in service does anyone know? Sorry if it’s been covered before.

Are the 170s staying on that route or will it become a solely 195 routeHull - Sheffield is a 'Northern Connect' route. Shame... I'd rather keep the 170s.
