Variations have also been submitted for the following...
21: Livingston to Whitburn or Bathgate
X22: Livingston to Shotts
23/X23: Edinburgh to Deans North or Broxburn
X24/X25: Edinburgh to Deans North or Blackridge
X25: Blackridge to Armadale Cros
26/26A: Bathgate to Bathgate (Circular via Fauldhouse etc)
27: Livingston South Station to Appleton Parkway Roundabout or Inveralmond Community High School or St John's Hospital
X38*: Stirling to Falkirk (Bus Station or Forth Valley College) or Linlithgow Cross
X38*: Camelon Police Station or Falkirk Asda to Edinburgh
600: Livingston to Edinburgh Airport.

*I'd assume the X38 number is just admin error at the DVSA side of things.

I note that the effective date is a Monday. Does this suggest they are running every night not just at weekends

That’s surprising first are cutting back on the N23/N25

Perhaps LCB could see this as an opportunity to extend the N28 to Bathgate and/or start a N18

Doesn't mean they're cutting them back, they may get registered again. We'll have to wait and see before knowing.

Do you really expect local authorities to work together like that... Aberdeenshire council up here won't even let Stagecoach drop off / pick up passengers within the city on their supported routes.

Stagecoach in Fife service 66 tender Glenrothes to Burnside is just bizarre. Milnarhort and Kinross offer a host of connections and amenities but of course is P&K council.

Quick question, but does anyone know where I could find out info on some old bus routes particularly SMT?

I've only lived in West Lothian for around 14/15 years, so I still learn new things all the time, and tonight I stumbled on something I never knew existed in the Freeport Designer Outlet Village around West Calder, which is still there if long since closed.
On further investigation, I found an old pamphlet which listed that listed several SMT bus routes that got me wanting to look them up.

Looked that designer village up , was it served by buses?

I'm not sure, or at least not direct buses to the centre? I found a pamphlet mentioning a few SMT buses so curious as to their route and I'm really hoping to find out more about the place in general.

*edit*
It seems there maybe have been buses but IDK?

The problems have arisen since the withdrawal of services to Freeport from Deans, Livingston, West Calder, Loganlea, Stoneyburn, Blackburn and Bathgate by bus company First following poor usage.

It was indeed served by FIRS Tbus, back in the day.

Until 2001? It was service was the old 98/99/198/199 which was circular Bathgate - Blackburn - Designer village - Stonyburn - Fauldhouse - Whitburn - Armadale - Bathgate, plus the 275.

In September 2001 changes that become 98/99 become no1/2, but no longer via the centre, with a new service No7 Livingston - West Calder - Bathgate every 30mins took over. By 2004? it was one bus AM and PM for workers and then that was it. Ie 9am and 18pm and then shortly after that nothing.

Thanks very much, also seen 275 and 276 buses listed do you know about them?

Wish I knew that place existed so I could have visited at least once if only to have been.

It was a very popular place for shopping with plenty to keep the kids happy. It was killed off when McArthur Glen opened at Livingston.

I always drove there from Edinburgh but don't remember seeing any bus stances next to the car park. Perhaps passing buses stopped outside the development?

Here's a look at the abandoned shops:

Ah yes right. I see the bus shelter.

I guess at least 90% of folk who went there did so by car. I dont think I was aware of a bus link direct from Edinburgh.
