Just got my results for stage 1 assessment on Tuesday and it just says RSSB national standard - pass.
Freightliner enhanced standard -fail. Was wondering if anyone knows where this leaves me in regards to applying for other companies and also if it counts as one of my fails considering your only allowed 2?

It will be a pass at national standard so you’ve not lost one of those lives, however you’d only have one more go at an enhanced level. You can apply to other TOCs/FOCs who accept national standard and should only have to do stage two onwards.

If you went for another go at the enhanced standard and failed, I believe that’s your two lives regardless, but not 100% on that.

Only got the pass at national standards,no enhanced pass for me! Any idea which companies would accept this?
DB Cargo (I think), GWR, SWR. There will be plenty more out there, but with the exception of DB Cargo, those I’m certain of.

Mine is 9th jan in Watford.

Do people that have done it before recommend practice on the actual tests for stage 2??
If so where have you found them? The practice notes they send out seem a bit vague!!

Is the MMI as bad as it sounds or just a case of keeping calm under pressure?

It’s prob been asked to death so happy to be redirected to these answers... current rail employee but new to this site

Still not heard yet. Sat my stage 1 dot test only last Wednesday and haven't had an email. I'm just hoping mine is late because itll now be referred back to Freightliner as I have already sat Stage 2...fingers crossed. Congrats to those that have heard and got through!

As long as you keep passing to national standards then in theory you can apply as many times as you like as there is only one official pass mark from the RSSB and that’s the national standard, any other pass mark is purely from the TOC / foc itself and is not at all official. Whether or not the particular TOC / foc only allow you to take it and not pass to their ‘enhanced’ standard on more than two occasions is another matter but I’ve never heard of that.

Ah excellent, well done. I sat my Group Bourdon only on Wednesday last week, feeling exactly the same. Thats all I sat, still waiting for the email. Also just hoping that all my stage 2 scores are high enough to go straight through to Interview. What date did you get for interview, new year?

No date yet. I feel like computer tests and mmi are just a straight pass. I very nearly failed the hand eye coordination test so did not expect that to be to an enhanced level.
Only speculation though.
All the best with your results

Hand eye isn't enhanced , I believe. Unless anything has changed since 2017 when I did mine and asked at the OPC . None of the computer test's were back then.

As far as I’m aware that’s correct as of last year too.

I had my stage 2 assessment today at Watford so I arrived in the closest car park to the address at 08:30 and proceeded to walk following my sat nav. My sat nav had taken me to the address I was given number 1 wellstones and this was a garage so I phoned up and said where I was and was told to follow the service road as I’m at the wrong end so I said should I be heading towards the market place and was told no so long story short 6 phone calls later I spoke to a gentleman who explained that I need to be in the market place and that they are opposite the NatWest and above the restaurant called ask I ended up arriving at 09:10 and I was turned away. Gutted is an understatement but hopefully I can reschedule. So to anyone going in the near future find the ask restaurant near the NatWest in the high street.

Very harsh as they knew you was trying to find the place

I understand it’s their policy though and I even showed them my parking ticket to show what time I arrived. I just have to wait for a reply now to see if I get another chance

Db cargo is national .. they only test to national standard ... don’t give you a enhanced pass unless it’s for another company they are testing for .

I only had a DMI with them (or SAM as they call it...) but was sure I’d heard they were national, thanks for clarifying.
