Thanks, I had missed that.
So short answer yes. Subject to the conditions in that letter being met and no mods being made that might be considered to need any supplementary authorisation.
Thanks, I had missed that.
I'd imagine one additional diagram each week is what is meant. One round trip a week? Impressive - not!
Think you've got the wrong end of the stick. One round trip a week? Impressive - not!
BJ hasn't formalised anything, the Sec of State for Transport has. He acts under his own delegated authority and Cabinet decision making processes, not the authority of BJ.Seems reasonable, as far as I'm aware their planned debut this month did not go ahead? Putting the full introduction date back a month accordingly seems a fair response. I don't imagine much work will be taking place between now and the new year. Good to see that BJ has finally formalised the derogation for PRM-TSI though, so presumably there'll be no impact other than the current maintenance backlog.
1st 745: 0740 (1P15) Ex Norwich 8th Jan 2020.
how far will it get before failing spectacularly I wonder?

In the UK system, executive power is delegated from the crown to the PM following conventions and the PM subdelegates it as he sees fit so you can argue whether it is PM or minister who has authority but it definitely is not the cabinet process in itself without the PM - but this is not important.BJ hasn't formalised anything, the Sec of State for Transport has. He acts under his own delegated authority and Cabinet decision making processes, not the authority of BJ.

According to Rail Magazine correspondent Richard Clinnick - 4 to 8 weeks for 745's to enter passenger service.
It's more like in here:Sorry if it’s already in here... but when will the 90s finish?
Yes..but the 90s and Mk3s performing better than ever ..based on the evidence of my last few runs. And drivers seem to be enjoying driving them too.A year ago tomorrow for my final commute of 2018 I thought to myself “it won’t be a 90 and Mk3s this time next year”.
I have already had my final commute of 2019 and it was a 90 with a reduced number of Mk3s.
Fortunately (not without its problems) this part of Anglia is further advanced in the fleet replacements than elsewhere.
I love the optimism of the first post on the thread from 30th October.
That was 30th October 2019 if someone is reading this message in a years time and the mark 3's are still running.
Saw a 745 go through Diss at 10.00 this morning at full speed, couldn't catch its number. Obviously testing continues over the season.
Several Norwich services are planned with 745/1s anyway. Airport services will easily be exchangeable with 720s should the need arise as all drivers on the West will sign both.We know there are more IC diagrams then there are IC 745s so will they use the Stansted 745s to make up for the shortfall (like for the NI90)?
Stansted already has 379s so it doesn't make sense to keep 90s so Stansted can have slightly newer rolling stock.
West Anglia never gets good stuff because it doesn't serve Norfolk so I expect some West 745s will probably be reallocated to Norwich permanently.Several Norwich services are planned with 745/1s anyway. Well they are allocated to & maintained at Crown Point.West Anglia never gets good stuff because it doesn't serve Norfolk so I expect some West 745s will probably be reallocated to Norwich permanently.
It’s not a rumour. One of the franchise obligations in the bid was to extend the Ipswich stopper to Norwich. Like the Liverpool St - Lowestoft through service, there is a realistic chance it never happens and get silently axed. That 720's will operate the third service or that StanEx units will are both just rumours thrown around here.
Yes, but isn't it operationally a better way of increasing capacity at Ipswich station by not having units stabling for up to 20 minutes in platforms and having to cross over the main running lines. The Ipswich stopper creates a pathing headache as it has to run wrong line through Ipswich Tunnel before crossing to the up main> This is one of the services that slows down the Nin90 down service through Ipswich. It’s not a rumour.
