Hi folks
Given that I live 2 minutes walk from there I thought I'd have a look at the brand new station in Wolverhampton as it officially opened today.
First impressions are that it is heck of a lot nicer than the old one! Very light and airy and plenty of room for shops etc. It does look like there will be more of an emphasis on self-service as I could only see one ticket window but there are a number of self-serve machines that are ready to use.
One question I have though is that the new station building appears to have been built over the entrance to the subway tunnel that links the station with the hotel, pub and apartments built on the site of the Low Level Station, something that I found very useful. Does anyone know if the subway access will be re-opened somewhere within the new station or have they completely closed it? Would be a shame and an inconvenience if they did.
